Minneapolis Skyway Maps makes navigating the Skyway faster and easier.
In this first release, coverage is provided for a core route covering sporting venues, hotels, parking ramps etc.
Coverage will continue to increase as more businesses opt in.
When you are inside the coverage area, you will see your location as a blue dot – think of it as an indoor GPS system
Search for major points of interest and get turn by turn directions to your destination
Save a location and send it to someone you know via text or email for them to navigate to you (they will need the app as well)
After the application and map has been downloaded, navigation on site in the Skyway doesn’t require a data / Wi-Fi connection
The app needs to be in the foreground to work. Bluetooth and Location services to be turned on
Continued use can reduce battery life

Works when you’re in the limited 3 miles.
Unfortunately, if you are on part of the skyway that isn’t covered by the app, then it doesn’t show your location. It would be nice to have this work in concert with street maps so that you could find the best exit from the skyway to get to a location that doesn’t connect directly to the skyway.
Tried to use this on the spot. I could literally be standing still and it would shoot my location into middle of street then back again. The calibration is absolute trash. I’d be walking one way but the arrow showing which way I was point was 100% wrong 100% of the time. Sections missing in multiple spots. You can type in a business then it will mark it on map before you hit directions. But if you touch screen at all or try to zoom it will un mark that location you were looking at. And a simple tap on the screen it just keeps dropping a pin. So then you have to go back search the one you want and click it again. It also doesn’t tell you the location of the business. Starbucks for example. It just lists 3 Starbucks that’s it. So it’s guess and check. As the order isn’t always which is closest. Honestly I could prob write a better app in my sleep. Don’t use this it’s trash. Coming from a billion dollar company like Honeywell. Very shocking. They should still to thermostats and coffee makers.

Hi - thanks for the feedback. the location accuracy you saw, limited points of interest are all because of the current limited coverage of the application in the Skyway system. The Skyway system is owned by different buildings and this lack of single point ownership meant that we were limited to covering only 3 of the 9 miles. These 3 miles were chosen as part of last years football event by the downtown council and other stakeholders. We continue to work with stakeholders of downtown buildings and associations and seek investment in expanding it to the full 9 miles. Your feedback is very helpful in making this happen.
Good skyway app
The app really helped us get back to our parked car at 11th and Marquette when we were trying to avoid being outside after Super Bowl Live. The only complaint I had was my compass was pointing the wrong way but that seems to be an issue with the phone and not the app. A suggestion: have the app run a compass calibration during its first use.
