Great for at home workouts
I have 3 kids and am insanely busy with them but I am still able to do Mission Lean because the time commitment is so DOABLE. I try to get in a workout before anyone wakes up in the morning so I get up just 30 minutes earlier and do the workout right in my living room because that's all it takes. My 14 year old actually sometimes does it with me if she wakes up early too and it's a really fun way to start the morning for us. This helps me stay fit because otherwise I wouldn't be able to get to the gym, do a workout, come back from the gym which would probably take 90+ minutes altogether. I think I'm getting better results right in my own house. The diet part is a little tough for me because I have to feed the kids too and everyone has their specific preferences but I actually have made some of the dinners for the whole family and I was so happy when everyone eats everything -- I made a pasta dinner once that everyone loved with the Mission lean recipe for homemade tomato sauce (and ate vegetables and everything else healthy) plus it was super quick to make. Basically, this is a good fitness app for any busy person including moms and you can try to get the whole family to participate with you too.
Delicious, simple food
As a person with food allergies, my first question was - Can I do this program? And if that's your question you most definitely can. Whether you're allergic to nuts, gluten like me, dairy or any specific fruit/vegetable/grain you'll be able to tell right away if you can make a recipe or not because the ingredients are so clear. Everything is whole foods, single ingredient and also listed if something is gluten free or not. So if you have to eat gluten free like me you just look out for the gluten free sticker. So many of their recipes were actually gluten free because they use oats, brown rice, wild rice, buckwheat, and other grains that naturally do not contain any gluten. So because so much was naturally gluten free it was easy to participate in the food portion of Mission Lean. The only things that I had to substitute my own stuff for was the sandwiches. I used my own special gluten free bread so I could make the rest of the recipe the same. Along with following the diet plan, I did workouts about 2x a week at first and moved up to 3 or 4x a week as I continued on the app because I felt like I was getting stronger and it felt easier to do them often without getting sore. Take the challenge and do this app. I'm happy that I did.
Awesome exercises, app could be improved
I’ve been doing this app for about 2 weeks and here’s what I think: Good- workouts are 🔥 🔥. Seriously amazing and I am already seeing my work paying off. The moves are not your typical gym moves. There’s a good mix of cardio and body weight strength and stretching so combined you get a nice look altogether. The workouts are also quick and can be done in under 20 minutes. The food is delicious and simple so it’s really easy to make it. There’s a lot of fish recipes (which I like) but maybe not ideal if you don’t. But there’s plenty of chicken and vegetarian options too. I like all the desserts the most. Bad- You can’t track if you’ve done a workout or how many you have done so you have to keep track in your head or elsewhere. I feel like it would be a lot more motivation if you could just see how many workouts you’ve done each week and how many meals you’ve cooked from the app. Also, going through the workout would be better if I could see all the moves right away. There’s a chart that shows them but you have to go to it separately so you can’t see the move being demonstrated at the same time. Overall I’d say it’s worth your while.
