Addicting and fun, minor glitches

First off, this is a fantastic game overall. No ads bothering you during gameplay, and it doesn't require data to play. Starting from A ball and working your way to MLB is so much fun. I only have two complaints with it. First, when you take a swing, it's almost like it's pre-determined whether it's an out or not. You can blast it and it says you flied out, or you can roll it to third and it says you doubled. Really kind of odd in my opinion, but it is what it is. Secondly, once you reach the bigs, it fails to remember your career stats. It'll reset after you play a season or two, which is annoying, and the game loses its appeal at that point, for me. One area for improvement or update would be to remember your career stats and have a leaderboard of some sort to compare your stats with others.
Other than that stuff, this is a really great game you can play anytime, data connection or not. Highly recommended for baseball fans. A couple tips: if you're only getting a couple at-bats per game, turn up the effort. It uses more of your energy throughout the game, but if you manage your resources properly and can refill your energy as needed, it'll help you progress quicker through the game. Also, if you want to be a great hitter, focus on items that boost your hitting, instead of speed or fielding. You'll figure out what's what by looking at the icons.

Great game minus the moments where they don't let you play

This game is awesome. Going from A to the MLB is great. The game is very addictive and sometimes you find yourself playing a whole season in almost a day. There is just one problem. Sometimes the game takes your at bats away. You may get a chance to swing for one or two at bats and then the game decides to hit for you. You turn into a spectator rather than a player. Seems silly because the player basically gets 4 at bats a game. There have also been moments where the game is on the line and the game instead stakes your at bat and even strikes you out. I'm not a fan of this part of the game. I want to be able to play the game and not miss at bats. Other than that, the game is great.

Fun... to a point

I enjoy baseball sims, and Franchise MVP strikes a nice balance between action and strategy. You can create a player from the ground up - starting off in A ball then progressing through to the majors. Throughout the journey to the bigs, you have to make trade offs acquiring the training points and energy levels necessary to have maximum impact (at bats for batters, batters faced for pitchers) in each game. Gameplay on the iPad mini is especially nice.

Where the game experience breaks down is once you have progressed to the majors. As a player, you can swat a lot of homers, attain a lot of Player of the Games, and win multiple World Series. Aside from more MLB bucks, there is no reward. One would expect at least to be christened MVP after a dominating season. Sadly this isn't the case, which makes the gameplay after reaching the majors rather pointless.m

Add to that the multiple bugs (mentioned in other reviews, but especially irritating when career stats do not accumulate season to season), and this game is only a three stars.
