Ehh

The app is ok. It serves its purpose. I haven’t had the issue others have had with the app crashing. But…

I have 2 kids in 2 different schools. Both schools use MSA to process funds for their lunch accounts. However, when you create an account, it’s linked to a particular school. That means if you have kids in multiple schools, you have to create multiple accounts. I had to create 2 separate MSA accounts, with 2 different email addresses. Now I have to monitor 2 separate email addresses, instead of the one email account I use for all kids’ school related stuff. I have to switch back and forth between accounts to see who has lunch money. I also have to pay 2 separate service charges every time I add money to their lunch accounts.

Prehistoric

The app and website are so very dated. The aesthetics are bland. The function of the app is a pain. I dread having to load money for my child. It freezes up, never stores a card payment despite several times of clicking the box to do so. Such a nuisance. Additionally there have been a handful of times it looks as though money was added from my end and my child has got to the line to pay for lunch and it was never processed. We now take screen shots so she can prove money is on her card. Hoping her school switches.

Wouldn’t use if I had a choice

I’m forced to use this by the school district otherwise I wouldn’t. The $2 convenience fee seems excessive. The app asks if I want to store my credit card info on my phone so I can use it again in the future, but it doesn’t work. I check the box every time hoping it will some day work. Pretty sure my kids will move on to college and that won’t be fixed. There is no method of recurring deposits. In the scheme of things it’s a minor inconvenience, but it’s 2019 and as a financial this this one should have some more features.
