Moose Math - Duck Duck Moose

Thank you to the designers of Moose Math! As a teacher, I am always looking for apps for the students in my class. Once again the group at Duck, Duck. Moose didn’t disappoint with Moose Math. I am so thankful that they continue to make free educational apps for kids that are safe places for them to learn. This is a great app for students to practice their numbers, counting, adding, subtracting and comparing numbers. As each level is completed, the next level increases in difficulty. The repetition of problems helps the littles learn basic facts while also learning strategies for addition and subtraction. This app uses ten frames, pictorial representations of numbers, digits, and a combination of these to create problems to be solved. The cute graphics, sounds, and characters are inviting to encourage students to continue their work. Also, kiddos can move around and don’t have to stay in the same section all the time. Keep up the great work Duck, Duck, Moose!
The only reason this is getting a 4 stars instead of 5 stars is that the games are so wonderful my 5 year old doesn't want to stop playing. Because of this she "mastered" almost all the games in the first few days. I wish they would update and add more modules every so often. If the child could earn more stores/additions to the town as they master levels this would be a 5 plus app. In short -- this is a great app but could do with being more robust.
My four year old loves this app! He plays with it consistently (and voluntarily) every day. It's a great supplement to his Montessori education. With upbeat music, bright colors, and lots of verbal instruction and encouragement this app is ideal for the preschool crowd. Plus it's a lot of fun to boot! Even I am engaged by the variety of progressive skill based activities included within the app. This is definitely the best bang for the buck. Now I'm looking to Duck Duck Moose for a similar quality beginner reading app.
So first I downloaded the app and stuff and there was pretty good things! But it’s very frustrating sometimes like when you almost reached a level but you accidentally pressed the home button and then if you want to get to that level you need to restart the level AGAIN but besides that everything that’s not frustrating is good!
My 5 year old loves my iPad, but often won't play an educational game for more than 5 min before he wants to quit (though he will play other games much longer if allowed). Numbers, in particular, have been hard to get him to practice. He loves Moose Math and wants to play all the time! He even enjoys doing the worksheets that I printed off!Going to try the Reading app next.
It’s a good game. I just play when I’m eight and I’m in second grade and I played at home because we don’t have it on the iPad at school and it’s a good game. Kind of annoying but I just get over it. Sometimes my favorite part is where you like. Go to the moose shop and like make the smoothies. It’s really fun but it’s fun. Yay.
