----------------------------------------
- check if there are no disturbing REFLECTIONS from the cats angle of view.
- if your cat constantly switching between apps, disable MULTITASKING gestures in your iPad settings (cat paw contains more segments it is like 5 figers...).
- adjust BRIGHTNESS - remember that cat needs lower values (10-40%).
- game has "Back to Menu button" - Minimize and restore app and Menu button will appear for 5 seconds.
This game for cats is recommended for active indoor cats.
Kittens always jump in action instantly, older or outdoor cats may ignore game, they know it is virtual, you can try it later ideally when your cat gets in hunters mood, mostly about 3am :))
PLEASE REMEMBER: Your CAT IS NOT ROBOT nor TOY with button to activate chase mode. Respect their nature and don't expect that they will do exactly what you have seen on YouTube videos ;)
Mouse for Cats is free game for cats, 11 different mouse skins for every round. Offers more fun than just single laser point... You can support us by purchasing in-app Unlocks and you will get unlocked Mouse for Cats with real sounds, premium mice, multi mouse, set random or favorite mouse, speed, level order.
This game for cats is only for cats, please note:
SKINS ARE NOT REAL, MICE ARE NOT REAL :)
As the real rubber toy is not real mouse and even does not squeak like the real mouse, mice in this game are toys and they are colored for cats - not for humans, same applies for selected sounds - everything was massively tested and it is interesting action game for most cats.
TIP:
Try tap on mouse and move it around to get cat interested in game. Show how to tap on screen, they should follow you. Our cat testers reaching score above 100 in few moments, some of them are able to recognize Mouse for Cats icon and start whole application from the iPad home screen!!
You can try it even on small iPhone, there were nice results too, but game runs best on iPad with retina display.
!
To prevent scratches on the backside of the device, please do not put your device on the hard surface without protection cover!
Carpet or bed are best and safest places.
Cat may have some hard particles on the paws - protection film or tempered glass are recommended too.

My cat is very interested in this app initially but she seems to become bored because the mouse is too often visible, and she ends up just staring but not attacking. If possible, an option / slider setting to make the mouse hide for longer off-screen and take more time to reappear would be perfect for her. Ideally the mouse would be able to occasionally hide for even a few minutes at a time, since that’s the style of play my cat seems to enjoy with real toys. (Waiting and ambushing). This way I could leave the app on for long periods of time without her getting bored of it and finding it too predictable. Another idea could be a mode where the screen goes black after ~10 minutes but can be reactivated by a tap. That way my cat can turn it on when she wants it but it can be blank when she’s not interested (this way she doesn’t get bored of it seeing it running all the time and stops caring). She already knows to tap her physical toys when she wants to play so I’m sure she would learn that tapping the iPad will allow her to play if I leave it running on the floor for her. I know development takes time and labor but I would gladly pay even more for these extra features so that I can tailor the game to my cat’s personality. Thank you!

Thanks for your feedback, we can make option to keep mouse longer off-screen, but during tests while mouse were too long off-screen cats started to dig under iPad or just flipping device to find the mouse :)Did you try new Hunt mode where hit kills the mouse and new one come on the scene?
Our Kitties love this, but now I have no ipad

Have tried similar apps which bored our girls, but they give Mouse for Cats (‘MFC’) a 5 Paw Rating. Every time I turn on the ipad one of our girls expects to play MFC. Has been a great deterrent to our moody girl - when she starts bullying her sister we turn it on MFC and she’s mesmerized. Love that it plays for a long time, & doesn’t shut down, as our oldest is a voyeur who loves to sit and watch. Wish it didn’t reset to first level after a minute, as she rarely makes it to multi mini mice chase (which she loves) going at her own slow pace. She’d get there if had more time. Am shopping for a new ipad, so don’t have to negotiate with the cats to use mine lolUpdate: our oldest girl actually wakes me up in the morning, as she knows she gets to play MFC once she eats. Her winter aggression towards her sister, mostly from boredom, as greatly diminished too. Nice to see her so happy. Changing review from 4 to 5 stars :)

Thank you ;) We have plan to let you start mini games from the main screen, actually cat must hit 100x for each mini-game and this could be frustrating for cats observing screen more than hitting just because of no-activity score reset ;) ...All belongs to cats, great you know it and shopping for a new iPad :)))
Meow! But wish it were slightly better!

I just purchased the full version to get rid of the ads and for more features. That said…I have a few issues with this app. It IS the best one I have found for iPad and the one my cats like the best. Ok….asking your cat to stay engaged long enough to hit 100 times to get to the next level is asking too much from the furry ones in my opinion. Also…my biggest gripe is that I have found no way to go to the menu once the game has started other than by closing the app which is a two step process and then opening it again where it starts from ground zero….so there you go..your cat has to hit 100 times more to engage in another game. I would like to have more control over the app…say, change which mouse appears after a session where boredom is setting in…or change it to two or more mice mid-game, etc., or change the squeak, etc. I don’t like this inability to do these things once the game has started. If someone could explain how to access the menu at any time please let me know and if it’s impossible…please consider adding that feature to this app. At this point I would have paid $2.00 more for that feature.Update: I really don’t understand this app. My cats got bored with it so I decided to pretend to be a cat and hit the mouse or mice over 100 times to see what happens…and it takes me to the next numbered level but I see no difference in the motion if the mouse. I went through hundreds and hundreds of “hits” at one point when a singular mouse was spinning in circles….after 100, 200……many hundreds of hits on this one freakin’ mouse NOTHING CHANGED!?!In my opinion this app needs a lot more work…especially when being charged for the expanded version. Both of my cats are disinterested after less than one day’s use. Paws down from us cats.

thanks for your feedback, go back to menu is simple, minimize app to background (via home button or gesture) restore app to foreground then MENU button will appear in top left corner. This is how to prevent cats from leaving game, so no instant access to menu while cat is playing. Some cats playing in crazy style so 100 hits are there in few seconds, we will make option to how quickly will mini-games appears similar to mouse skin changes. lets say 30 - 50 - 100 - 200 hits and optionally start minigame right from menu screen. Resume game after change settings is good idea, we will implement it.Most cats prefer to have Random mouse order with Normal Level (skin) change. Some cats does not like to have more than one mouse on the screen so that is why there is no mouse increments during game, but yes we can make it as option for setting. Also there is no rule that cat will play as you wish, some cats just hitting single mouse with any skin all days, some touching only white mouse, other only green one, some are absolutely not interested in game. they are cats, not humans, not robots :)
Love this! Pls read!

I heard about these kind of apps from my friends and I wanted to try it! I was very skeptical because I thought my two cats would not be interested. I downloaded the app on my iPad and try to show it to my cats. At first they didn’t care, but I left my iPad alone sitting on the rug in the middle of the living room. They went crazy! One of them would watch the mouse roam around the screen and my other cat would go right in and try to bat and bite it. It is a very simple app. A colorful mouse roams around the iPad screen, after 100 hits from your cat a mini-game will play. Usually the mini-game is multiple small mice running across the screen or something similar. If the cat doesn’t hit the mice in the mini-game the app will go back to the normal mouse roaming around the screen. Anyways it is so funny to see how the cats interact with it. 100% recommend!

Thank you. Every cat is different and nobody knows if his cat will play or not. My new catman absolutely ignore the game or any screen at all, he does follow laser on the ground but he requesting fast and long moves, he loves to run and catch. If i try moves on small area he just watching and losing interest in while. I did not show him iPad until his 1 year, because kittens will always play and i wished to have older cat who does not know digital entertainment :) Now i have challenge, trying to tune app with new settings to attract him...
+ New game mode: HUNT - new mouse will appear after each hit.
* HotFix: restored multi-touch
