Description

NOTE: If the status icon does not appear, this might be because you have too many status icons. Unfortunately there is nothing I can do to counter this, so I'm thinking of alternative optional interface that does not need the status bar icon for operation. For now you might be able to workaround status icon issue by using 3rd party app such as "Hidden Bar" or "Bartender".

Are you tired of your mouse wandering off to different monitors while you're working on your multi-screen setup? Say goodbye to distractions and regain full control over your workflow with MouseLock, the ultimate app for restricting the movement of mouse.

3. Global Keybindings: Customize your mouse lock experience with rebindable global keybindings. Choose your preferred key combinations to enable or disable mouse restriction, providing a seamless and personalized workflow tailored to your needs.

4. Enhance Focus and Productivity: By keeping your mouse contained within a single monitor, MouseLock helps you stay focused on the task at hand. No more distractions caused by unintentional mouse movements, allowing you to work efficiently and meet your deadlines effortlessly.

What’s New

Version 1.3

- Fix screen order of the menu bar and hotbinds to match what the locking mechanism internally uses
- Fix focus issues with the keybind dialog
- The keybind dialog now appears on all spaces and has better hints for the macos window manager
- Added new "Hold and release" keybinding. When you hold this key, the locking will temporarily disable until you release, when you release the key it locks to the display where mouse is located during the release. This allows you to temporarily cross the display borders.

Simple, but…

I'm with the (only) other reviewer: documentation would be helpful. Without it, it's hit-or-miss whether or not you get this app to do what it claims to do. I was able to, but not sure exactly how (and don't know yet if it sticks after a restart). Minus one star for this difficulty.

That said, the app *does* work! I've restricted the mouse to the main display, which is crucial in my environment where the mouse can get lost on one of 4 additional displays.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for the feedback. I'll have to think about some first time startup wizard to help get started with the program. Feel free throw a mail into jari.vetoniemi@cloudef.pw if you have any questions.

Doesn't work

No documenations, no explanations, nothing. Once you figure out you have to do something with the icon on the top toolbar, you try to use it but nothing makes sense or does anything. Waste of money, don't bother.

Developer Response ,

Hello,

The icon on the status bar lists your connected displays.
Once you select the display you want to lock your cursor to, the cursor will warp to center of that display (unless it's already there) and will not be able to move to another display afterwards. To undo the locking, you click the menu icon again and select "Unlock".

If the locking still does not work. Make sure you check that MouseLocker has accessibility permissions given from the system settings (The app should ask them normally).

Hope this helps,
