Convenient Way to Bank

Moven App is a great way to bank. The town I live in has not caught up with the technology offered in larger cities. The bank I’m a member of doesn’t offer online banking, and the only way I can check my balance is to go to go to the physical location. This bank has given me everything I personally need such as a debit card, an app to check my balance, text alerts and email alerts. I have an account and routing number when I need to utilize direct deposit. I personally earn money online and use Moven for my deposits instead of my local bank. I like the features offered where everything is itemized so I know where my money is going and it compares my monthly spending to keep me on track so that I can make informed decisions on purchases. Highly recommend!!

When Moven works, it works great. The tracking tools are really easy to use, and it does give a good sense of your spending and overall financial “picture” that is clearer than any other native bank-company app or web service I’ve tried.

However, connecting all of my accounts has been a month-long chore, with lots of errors and lots of back-and-forth emails with their very kind support staff, who seem to be doing their best.

Also, ApplePay integration is spotty — using the Moven card as my default ApplePay source works most of the time with my Apple Watch and iPhone for contactless payment, but gets regularly declined when using ApplePay within some apps (most notably iTunes and Uber — which also won’t accept my Moven card if I try to add it directly, rather than through ApplePay).

Some of the issues get resolved (with no real explanation as to why or how), while others seem to be on an ever-expanding email support chain. And it’s like whack-a-mole — every time I get one problem addressed, another one pops up.

And on top of it all, the app seems to go through cycles of sometimes working, sometimes crashing — usually when the app is trying to call up an external link or API (support email, third party app/site connection, etc.(

It’s very frustrating, because I want to love the service, but don’t yet. It truly feels like I’m a beta tester for a service that isn’t quite ready yet.

Moven doesn’t miss an opportunity to disappoint

I’ve been using Moven for 3 years now, I was stranded out of state and had to stay an additional 2 weeks because you were limited on how much you could spend per week and I was trying to buy a car to get home. Fast forward to this year 2018, and my card expired at the end of March. I called them mid February to get a new card and was told they automatically send a new card before your current one expires just make sure your billing address is up to date. Well here I am 3 days after my card expired with no access to my money and I contact support and she tells me I didn’t order a new card so send her my address and she’ll get one in the mail. I tell her everything that happened and they should put a rush on sending me my card which of course she replied with the normal time frame and the nerve to add a satisfaction survey will arrive in 24 to 48 hrs! I’m done w Moven time to find another company because I won’t get screwed by you a 3rd time!
