Movie Tracker is the perfect app for iPhone, iPad and Mac to easily keep track of the Movies and TV Shows you want to watch.

People who spend a lot of time by seeing Movies and TV Shows know how much is difficult to keep track of all the movies they want to see. In this scenarios Movie Tracker will become the first actor by helping them to track and organize all the Movies and TV Shows in customized watchlists.
The main list is the Backlog, a place where quickly save items which someone recommends you, for example. Furthermore, you can create different Spaces, lists where to move items previously saved in the Backlog or just searched. Not only Movie Tracker displays a lot of informations, trailers and gorgeous cover art for all the Movies and TV Shows, but also allows you to find out where to stream, rent or buy them.

Movie Tracker users can look forward to:

- A synchronized list of Movies and TV Shows — whether you save a movie or tv show on your iPhone, iPad, or Mac, it'll be synced across all devices. Both your Backlog and Spaces will be synced seamlessly and automatically so you'll never lose a movie or tv show suggestion again!

- Easy and comprehensive organization — When a friend recommends a Movie or TV Shows for you to watch you can quickly add it to the Backlog. Next, organize the things to watch by dividing them into Spaces. You can have a Space with the TV Shows to watch with your girlfriend or another Space with the Movies to watch with your friends.

- Find out where to watch — Don't know where to watch a movie or a TV Show? Check which online services you can stream, rent or buy each title on.

- Get inspired — Get inspired on the next Movie or TV Show to watch thanks to the ability to see similar or recommended items.

- Deep integration with iOS and macOS — Movie Tracker includes support for the latest Apple features including Shortcuts and Siri, while Widgets can be used to put your favorite Spaces or Backlog right onto your Home screen or Lock Screen.

- Privacy — Movie Tracker doesn't collect any of your personal data and doesn't track you in any way. Movies and TV Shows should be fun, not another reason to worry about your data privacy.

Simple, straightforward movie & show tracker

Spreadsheets and physical notepads is how I kept track of the shows and movies I watched. Then I kept track on whatever streaming service I happened to use. Now that streaming services have become like cable I wanted to consolidate all the shows and movies I have watched. Lots of apps out there offer this service but almost all of them will harvest your personal data. I'm not about that.

The fact that data isn't collected is a huge plus for me. The full functionality of the app is only $5 - unheard of in these days where everything is a subscription!

Some Oddness

It seems okay so far, but has a few oddities, unless I am missing somethng. It has a backlog section and a watched section. If I add something to my backlog and then watch it and add it to my watched section, it still somehow stays in my backlog section as well. Why is this? It doesn't seem like the app has a way to remove it from my backlog but still have it show up as watched, unless I create some separate space for it and move it there, which just seems dumb to me. Once a show is marked as watched, it should no longer be in my backlog.

Update: I added a star, as the developer has informed me of a way to hide the watched shows. I wish this was a bit more obvious & intuitive though.

Developer Response ,

Hi, you can hide the watched items in your backlog or spaces. To enable this feature, open the backlog list and then three dots icon in the upper right corner -> Hide watched. If you need further support send me an email to

Great app!

I’m obsessed with tracking things, and i used the book tracker app made by the same company, so it was only natural i needed to try this out. and it didn’t disappoint! i love this app! it’s easy to figure out and has the best backlog of any app i’ve used. my only suggestion is more info on the statistics side of it. i can classify to my hearts content and i love that. to elevate this app to the next level for me, i’d love to be able to really analyze my movie watching preferences. it already has a most watched actor section, i would expand that to include director and other things as well. but great apps all around!
