Great app idea
Very easy to use. This doesn’t require linking any bank accounts or any of that stuff so if you don’t use cash or cash envelopes this is an awesome virtual way.
What I would like to see improve:
- The top right one for some reason doesn’t show with dark mode. It’s white and the text is white so it won’t show, the rest of titles for the envelopes show fine.
-Adding price and description doesn’t show on dark mode either - background is white and font is white so I can’t double check what I’m putting
-I wish you could edit your purchase in the purchase history if it’s off by a dollar instead of having to undo the whole thing and re-enter it
-Maybe have an option to add more envelopes in the future for those who have more than 6 cash envelopes?
Great app to start and play with.
Edit: Dang, creator of this app is SUPER responsive and is open to any ideas and changes that would help better your experience with the app 😍
Developer Response ,
Thank you very much for your thoughtful review and feedback.
I fixed the issue you were having with dark mode by disabling it. So for now the app will display the same in both light and dark modes until I can find a way to make it look less weird while in dark mode.
I also added the ability to edit purchase history entries by swiping right (as opposed to swiping left to undo.)
Adding more envelopes is a great idea! However it’s a much bigger design problem to solve within this current version of the app. Although I would like to tackle it some day.
I’ve submitted these changes to Apple and if approved, this update should be available within 48 hours.
Thank you again for taking the time to review Multi-Budget.
Have a nice day,
Edit: The update has been approved and is available for download. 👍
Such a great budgeting app!
very clever idea! I’ve used three other budgeting apps including an envelope app and it was just too much to keep up with. This app is intuitive and easy!! when you are tracking purchases it’s quick and clear! love it! Thanks for listening to feedback and updating the app with initial amounts in each “envelope”! Also love the colors and really can’t emphasize how easy this is to use! when creating a new habit you want it to be easy and this worked for me!
Didn’t like it
I gave this app a try and wasn’t satisfied. I would have liked more breakdown on the transaction history. Since it is set up to assist with multiple budgets it would have been nice if the history didn’t combine all the budgets’ transactions in one history list. There isn’t even a color category separation. I guess you would say I’m looking for something a little more complicated. Its just my accountant/detective mind wanting to more explanation.

Edit: I’ve submitted a new version of Multi-Budget to address your issues with the spending history.
Now each item in the spending history has a label to indicate which budget it’s from and you’re also able to toggle between budget categories to display information for separate budgets.
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
