Best product ever.

ChartBuilder is a must-have tool for church musicians and worship teams. It’s super user-friendly and lets you customize and view chord charts in real time, making rehearsal and live performances way smoother. With an easy interface and access to a massive song library, any team—big or small—can elevate their practice and live sets. Every church should seriously consider adding this to their worship budget!

Suggestion for Improvement: It would be incredibly helpful if ChartBuilder allowed users to edit arrangements directly within the app. The option to adjust chords when there are mistakes, or even create custom versions, would add massive value. This feature would not only solve minor issues but also let users create personalized arrangements to suit their team’s unique needs and styles. I believe this level of control could boost subscriptions and potentially increase earnings by up to 20%.

Conclusion: ChartBuilder is an invaluable investment for any worship team. It’s practical, adaptable, and designed to elevate music performance in church. Multitracks, keep up the great work—and don’t forget those “thank you” gifts for feedback like this!

It’s finally a five star app

I don’t usually write reviews unless it’s really bad or really good. First of all I have to say that this app has come a long way. I have used it for a few years and there was always something wrong with it. Whether it was glitches, tracks not playing, stuff not syncing, subscriptions not working, or pressing the off button on your phone so you can listen to the tracks while your phone is in your pocket but the app turns off as soon as you do that. I love everything about it now. And the integration with playback is just the icing on the cake. I’m glad that you can finally turn your screen off and still listen to the tracks as I listen to it while playing drums. Thank you for always striving for excellence with this app. We all our in different ministries and multitracks is called to this ministry in providing worship resources to the community and they are second to none. Thanks again 🤙🏽🤙🏽

Always have the RIGHT chart!

Using this with Playback has been a game changer. I've been slowly adapting our slow-to-change worship team members to the multitracks ecosystem over the past number of years and chartbuilder integration with playback is just wonderful. Our singers are able to open the app on their ipads, sync with playback, and not have to touch their tablets again the entire service.

My only complaint is that we do experience occasional (sometimes frequent) connection drops, but I also know that our network at the church isn't always great and it may be our own fault so I'm not going to fault multitracks for that. Also, if it does drop, you are still able to scroll through music manually which isn't really an issue for anyone.

Great tool but Lord Jesus help these bugs

This app is a great tool to get the band up to speed and ready to go ahead of rehearsal. It makes the actual rehearsal run much smoother and allows the praise team to practice the songs on the go. It’s allowed the praise team to get use to hearing a click track and guide and just helps the songs run smoother.

BUT the bugs in this app are out of control. My singers will try and find out what key they are singing in and even when they switch the key, the audio won’t switch. Sometimes I’ll choose one song and it will play something completely different. Sometimes the app just won’t open at all because it keeps crashing over and over again. Many of my band members just opt to using rehearsal mix from the multitracks website because this app is just that buggy. I would love to invest more into this app and purchase more packages but right now it’s just not worth it.

It’s a great tool when it works but when it don’t work it’s completely useless.

Many pros, a few cons

As a music director this app is great. On Sundays this provides most of what you need.

A lot of my issues are with the pre-Sunday process of setlist creation. There is not total parity with the MacOS application and the iOS application.

No choice to add a click track on iOS, but you can add it on MacOS. But, whatever custom name you give it will not show up on iOS. This results in me jumping between devices just to make a coherent setlist. This is one example of tiny features that need to be more consistent so the workflow is manage-able.

Outside of setlist creation, the app will yell at you if you take a screenshot. This is of course to protect the IP of the artists they're merely licensing the songs from. That's understandable, but iOS apps have developed a system to blank the screen when screenshots are taken. For the UX, blasting the user with a warning that their account will be disabled when taking a screenshot is excessive. Developers need to implement the screenshot blanking feature that will circumvent the problem entirely.

Again, a lot of these things are really just minor issues, but it adds up when you're consistently working with the app. For as much as it does wrong, it does twice as much right. It is the most robust app for such a niche use but it could use better feature parity and better UX overall.

A must have for Worship. Small but mighty upgrade needed!

Really like the workflow of the app. I play electric guitar for church and on many charts there are several EG’s listed. But you have to listen over and over again to figure out riffs and things. Would be extra helpful if there were tabs for the songs when there are riffs expected to be played.

ALSO, the ability to copy and paste a text annotation to other parts that do similar things within a chart. I end up tabbing out riffs on the chart which takes a long time. Would be nice ti be able ti copy the EADGBE linear format fo riff tabs on other parts if the chart… or better yet, include tabs as a file that can be chosen to pull up.

SUGGESTION

I absolutely love this app! It is very user friendly and I use it every single week when preparing for church services all throughout the week. I do have a suggestion for how the app could be improved, however!

I think it would be a great feature to include a mixer in the song recording area at the bottom of the screen that allows for making my own in ear mix. I would love to be able to have a mixer in front of me where I can adjust click, guide, and each individual stem of the song. That way I can replicate my in ear mix and practice along with that. And I can mute, solo, and pan certain tracks if needed. I don’t know if this is possible but I would love to see this feature!

Too many basic features missing

A decent practice, and okay charts. Chart issues that need fixing is when wanting Nashville numbers they’re all jammed together and hard to read. Simple usability features missing like a search history, ability to make a user play/practice list and have to repeatedly search for the same thing over and over. When using live it disconnects and won’t resync making it less than reliable…

Great idea that needs work.

And yes, I have suggested these and other fixes that were accepted with enthusiasm then promptly ignored…

Hey there Scubabass,

Definitely doesn't sound like our expected behavior with our support team. We take all customer feedback seriously and appreciate you reaching out to us when you did! I've also made sure that we've appropriately passed along all of your feedback, and will take it into account when planning future updates and features in the app! Thanks for sharing your feedback with us!

Could be good

This app is a buggy mess. It could be so good, but as I see from other reviews, the same problems persist today that have been around for years… why can’t I listen to it while using another app? Why do I have to restart the app so much because songs won’t play? Update 9/7/24: this app has improved a lot. Can now listen while not having the app open. A lot smoother experience. Still get a glitch sometimes where the song on screen is not what’s playing and key changes not working. Fix these and it’s a four to five star app.
9/9/24: using this app consistently this week and it constantly plays the wrong song… annoying enough to be at 2.5 stars if I could make it. Please fix, and I would like to rate higher.

JERNAP ,

Nope…

I really…really…really want to love this app, but the reality is it keeps logging me out and when I log in it says I have to have a subscription…which I have. This has happened multiple times over the past year, each with an apology from Multitracks saying it’s been fixed…only for it to happen again and again. It wouldn’t be an issue if you could download the set list and if the subscription happens to run out at the wrong time, like just before you play, you still have your charts…but no. It just gives you a blank screen saying you have to subscribe. I love Multitracks, but their subscription services are buggy at best…and unfortunately this app relies on their services working. Bummer.

Thanks for the feedback! We are glad to hear that ChartBuilder receiving custom arrangements from Playback has been helpful for your team (have you checked out Playback Sync yet?) - our team has an exciting roadmap of upcoming features for ChartBuilder that will hopefully solve some of the problems you are highlighting here, including the lack of chart editing directly in the app. I'll make sure and bring your requests to our team!
