MusicBox is a flexible listen later app for albums, songs, artists, playlists, and radio stations. Save new music for later, catalog and organize favorites, assign tags, notes, metadata, and more.

MusicBox collects relevant metadata of albums and songs and is deeply integrated into the system with features such as Interactive Widgets, Share Sheet, App Shortcuts, iCloud, and more. It supports a wide range of platforms, and you can also add music manually by filling in all the required fields.

ADD MUSIC

- Use the Share Menu throughout the system.
- Drag and drop multiple items into the app.
- Import multiple albums, songs, playlists, and artists by pasting their URLs into the app.
- Use the Add Music action in the Shortcuts app to integrate MusicBox into your automated workflows.
- MusicBox also supports links to podcast episodes, album reviews, and so on.

ORGANIZE YOUR ALBUMS AND SONGS

- Apply tags to categorize your music and make it easier to find.
- Use Auto-Tagging to automatically tag albums and songs based on rules you set.
- Deep Search allows searching your music by title, artist, genre, record label, tags, type, and notes.
- Create a Smart Search to automatically filter items based on a set of rules.

This update includes several improvements and features based on user feedback from the past weeks:

SHORTCUTS
• Add Music now supports the same set of services supported by the main app.
• Add Music Manually now includes track count, duration, editorial notes, and rating as fields.
• Find Music now supports finding items by their ID.
• Show Music can be customizable to either open the item in its source app or view it in MusicBox.
• Add or Edit Notes action was introduced to manipulate notes for an item.
• Mark as watched now properly updates the Date Played attribute.

SERVICES
• Better support for albums, tracks, and artists from Songwhip and AllMusic.
• Podcasts from Apple Podcasts will now get the “Podcast” type.

USER INTERFACE
• New option to organize new music by genre on the sidebar. To configure, go to Settings → Sidebar.
• Ability to adjust the sorting order directly from the toolbar.
• Separate sections for albums and singles when adding via search.
• Notes can now be added or edited inline in the details pane.

AUTO-TAGGING
• Editing an Auto-Tagging condition and changing the 'When' attribute no longer unnecessarily clears the 'Contains' field.

An essential add on for Apple Music

This app takes apple music from a disorganized mess and turns it into a wonderful, customizable catalog of music, more easily accessible than you could imagine. I have over 150 albums saved right now, but with tags you are able to put them into boxes that allow no one album to get lost. This flexibility has allowed me to explore more albums and genres than I otherwise would have for fear of cluttering my rigid apple music library. Being able to start an album right from the ios app without even touching apple music is wonderful and makes the whole process so much smoother. This is probably one of my favorite apps of all time...

It's how your library on Apple Music should work.

I've been looking for a good solution for album-focused listening, and after much trial and error, I'm happy to have found MusicBox.

One feature I'd like to see is an option to list all artists in the sidebar, not just artists that have new music. Perhaps an option to list artists with new music first, and the rest in alphabetical below?

Great for curation!

If you're the kind of person who gets a lot of music suggestions, or doesn't like cluttering their library with music that friends suggest then this app is excellent.

It's a powerful app with a great user interface. The price is absolutely worth it.

My only issue is that it has a bit of a learning curve. That being said the powerful features are well implemented so it is what it is - don't let that scare you away from a great app!
