The application uses Wi-Fi function on your mobile terminal for the purpose of operating network-enabled devices.

This application accesses to music information stored in your smartphone / tablet for the purpose of displaying, playing and editing the music information and/or playlist.
To setup your MusicCast devices, this app needs to find your Wi-Fi network as location information. This app doesn’t collect your actual location using GPS or Wi-Fi based positioning technologies.

Nice when working
I like the app when it is working. I have had a situation happen twice where I came home and my receiver (R-N303) lost it's wireless network connection. The frustration came when all of the automatic methods (airplay, sharing ios password) of getting it back on the network. I finally gave up and entered the network SSID and password manually with the remote. This involves scrolling through long list of upper and lower case letters, numbers and punction characters with the up and down arrows on the remote. Painful, but that is the only thing that will work when this happens.
WhenI first got the device, it joined my network as an airplay speaker through my phone no problem. But both times that it forgot the network information, I had to enter the network information manually.
*Update* App crashes after 8/10 update
App was fine. Now crashes on my iPad after August 10th update. Opens then crashes immediately every time. I built the iPad into my wall solely to control this app and the 9 MusicCast speakers I have around the house. Really need this fixed... Does anyone know if there is a way to revert back to the last version until a fix is released? I’ll update my 1 Star review when this is resolved.
Update - Yamaha released an update to resolve this issue. Not only did it fix the issue, the app as a whole seems to be working better in regards to speakers syncing with my musiccast sound bar. 5 stars deserved for sure!
Update needs ASAP!
Update: updated to 1 Star. I have two receivers, a sound bar and two stand alone speakers.... Airplay cuts out so frequently you can’t even use it. Stuck with Bluetooth. Link plays at different times despite them being wired. Basically non of the claims they made which is why I bought so far into MusicCast work. Still great stand alone receivers... I have been running different Yamaha receivers for 20+ years but this attempt at multi room, airplay issues, is lacking BIG TIME!
1) make it so the blue led light on your speakers turns off when powered down. As it stands the WiFi light stays illuminated and therefor so does my room because it’s extremely bright.
2) since the last update I have had trouble with airplay, the stream suddenly sounds gargled and inaudible. It continues until the streaming service (one that is supported directly from Yamaha) is closed and reopened. On occasion I have to disconnect and reconnect the device.
