New update has broken my whole house music

I have musiccast speakers in 7 rooms, usually 5 stars. System has been reliable for a number of years, until now. Latest app update (big change in UI) has made local IOS content unplayable: any local content plays for about 30 seconds then stops. Seems to happen whether or not device screen is locked. Sometimes the new musiccast UI also becomes unresponsive. Same behavior on two iPhone 11s, gen4 and gen5 iPads. All running IOS 15.5; upgraded to IOS 15.6 same behavior. Radio stations still work, hence 3 stars. Will revisit rating if yamaha fixes.

Update: uninstalling and reinstalling app fixed my issue. After reinstallation I was asked to accept the terms and conditions, and also privacy policy. Perhaps this is related to the prior issue. Anyhow, pleased to have my music back. And the new UI is growing on me.

Nice when working

I like the app when it is working. I have had a situation happen twice where I came home and my receiver (R-N303) lost it's wireless network connection. The frustration came when all of the automatic methods (airplay, sharing ios password) of getting it back on the network. I finally gave up and entered the network SSID and password manually with the remote. This involves scrolling through long list of upper and lower case letters, numbers and punction characters with the up and down arrows on the remote. Painful, but that is the only thing that will work when this happens.

WhenI first got the device, it joined my network as an airplay speaker through my phone no problem. But both times that it forgot the network information, I had to enter the network information manually.

Great App

I have several MusicCast speakers and they all work flawlessly except for Apple Airplay and I am sure that has more to do with Apple than Yamaha. If you want to cast music to several speakers from an iPhone you have to use Bluetooth. Just one speaker it usually works fine. Pandora works great and sound syncs flawlessly to my 5 different speakers. I’ve never had an issue where sound is out of sync and I’ve had them over 5 years. If you have a soundbar you can sync the music channels or anything (sports) across all speakers as well. The only thing I have not tried is making a stereo pair, but I am sure it works. Yamaha has a solid product here.
