MusicView is a simple client for Spotify and AppleMusic.
You can view top charts in any country and quickly play any of the tracks.
You can view and edit your currently playing song which can be displayed as a widget.
You can create your own custom widget themes so they match any setup.

Note: Some actions such as playback control require a Spotify Premium account. All playback controls are available with Apple Music.

Lots of potential

Has great potential, I love how the developers are working to improve this app constantly. The things that bug me the most is how the song will not change on the widget unless you manually tap on it. Also how if you try to play/pause/skip etc. it takes you into the app. Hopefully these things will be fixed soon, keep up the good work!

Unfortunately due to restrictions the widget can only be updated every 5 minutes or manually. We will be adding a Siri Shortcut in a future update so you can automatically refresh the widgets when you open/close Spotify.

The play/pause actions are also due to restrictions as widgets are not allowed to be interactive. You can speed this up by editing the widget and turning on “Close On Tap” or for a custom theme, under general settings turn on “Refresh On Tap”.

Room for improvement

I love the idea behind this app it does what I want it to, but doesn’t always do it correctly. It lets me pause and skip with a widget on my Home Screen through iOS 14. However if I open an app that plays any sound and then I get off that app and press play on my widget it won’t play, I have to swipe up from my control center and continue playing it through that. And another issue is when skipping songs the picture and title of the song doesn’t always update to what song your actually hearing which is kind of a let know. But once those issues are solved I definitely will give this app a 5 star!

Great given the constant improvements and the fact that ios 14 just came out

At first the interface was a little laggy and defective but over time it got much better and i really appreciate the fact that the developer is active in responding to criticism and updating the app. Only request i have is if there was an option to slide through the songs but other than that it works great. Definitely worth the dollar for me
