Nice simple wallet, one privacy flaw

Overall a nice simple wallet. However when tapping on “Receive”, Muun automatically checks the contents of your clipboard. Don’t know why or what it’s doing with what’s in there but this is poor privacy form. Please change this behavior.

Update: developer contacted me to explain that Muun is checking for a BTC address or LN URL which is why it’s reading clipboard. This is poor privacy form. iOS provides an API to check for the existence of a URL. This is all that should be done without user action. The contents of the clipboard themselves should only be read on user action.

Hello! You mean when you tap Receive and the scan button (LNURL) right? If that's correct, this is because Muun's checking if there's a Bitcoin address / LNURL in your clipboard to offer you to use it. Same happens when tapping on "Send". Please notice that this is a client-side verification only. You can verify this in our source code: https://github.com/muun/falcon

A good app but can be better

I sent btc to an address using the lowest fee option and it took like forever to be confirmed. I think that needs to be worked on. If you give option for flexible sending fees then, such transactions should be given priority as well.

Best BTC wallet overall

At the beginning I downloaded it to use the lightning network. But turned it into my primary bitcoin wallet.

The wallet itself is pretty simple. You can use it as a normal BTC wallet, just that it also has the ability to pay lightning invoices, and receive lightning payments. All the “dirty” job is done in their end. You just “scan and pay with bitcoin”, as they say.

It’s a wallet made for the average user. No need to setup nodes, connect to channels, or any complicated stuff. Which makes it more user friendly.
