  • Fantastic best btc wallet I’ve used but:

    SA936

The Lightning Network sounds awesome, but it seems to work backwards unlike Im receiving this much segwit & I assume bech32(m?). I can make the receipt out in that case (not sire what bech32 nor m entail but to me this is backwards: it was easy to get money in there: say I’m paying or receiving & they dunno how to work it, how Lightning Network works; I barely do but I’m pretty sure I need to wait for a Ticket or something alike made out for me and sent to me so I can pay the person (so I have to ask them to do more work I see them saying no, maybe or only x, y or z. Now how do I get them to understand this newish not really adapted tech to more & teach them how to do it - the old way was better, I don’t have to hassle or worse make them anxious or overwork etc anyone. But I will say best BTC wallet on iOS if I’m wrong and you have any idea what the issue is. (Usually its whats the Lightning network? SegWit? New strain or do You mean sandwich?? Bech32(m) ??Either its some new A.I. like uh “this string of alphanumerics does not exist…yet” or Crypto? You know MUUN, it’s-a-wallet? “okay bud *shh whispers he’s gone into word-salad glossolalia & thinks a cow or something?! No worries, we’ll get you the help you need…!” *sigh* lol yea that was fun 😂 but serious about everything except “cryptocurrency” it seems simple, except that perceived one way ness (I was able to get my $ out of the Lightning Network & back into BTC but I definitely lost money being dumb ie sending my diff wallets crypto from another wallet lol - that yeah its back or fiat currency ie is 250$ USD in the Lightning fluctuate like BTC or Alt Coin with the crypto and

  • My 2nd funds never showed, Muun is taking action to help recover my funds when Cash App wouldn’t!

    Christopherchea

I sent two lightning fund transactions from Cash App over a month ago now, Cash app didn’t care saying they would have someone contact me and never did. Muun is correcting the problem (whether C.A. will take action or not) because I made them aware of the problem. IDK about you but I know banks would act like C.A. And not Muun. I’m sure going to keep in business with Muun!!! Awesome and great thank you, 10 stars! (If I could) ;)Update: cash app did nothing & Muun tried to find my payment when Cash app did nothing literally and never called me with the specialist that was supposed to call me. We are poor and disabled and cannot replace the money that we had lost, but Muun recovered our money for us! I wish I could give 10 stars!!! it took them four months to find it, but it was found! Cash app would not even give me the time of day. I am so done getting crypto through Cash app.

Hello Christopher, thanks for sharing your experience with our team, and for the 10 stars! We are glad we could help, don’t hesitate to contact us again if you need to. Cheers!

  • Not acceptable, they stole my BTC!

    A.non.E.mous3

I sent two lightning payments to the app, only one appears and support is trying to ask me for the same things that I sent them in the first email like they never even read the email in the first place, asking me for the information I have already given them. I have given them the invoices and I have given them everything that they need to do to look up the situation and fix it because I sent it from cash app which I have never had a problem until I sent it to Muun. It’s only two $44 payments but I’m glad that it wasn’t more than that because I would’ve been out a lot more than just 44 bucks and that was over a month ago before it skyrocketed so there’s that as well. I do not suggest using this app. The customer service seems to not even know what they’re doing either. I will change my review if they can fix the problem, but this is over a month and a half later as well.

  • No better option for swaps!

    jaggner

Muun’s integration of Lightning and BTC is clean and user friendly more than any wallet I have tested! As a Lightning wallet I can understand the negative reviews for Muun’s high fees (since it uses swaps). But if you want a Lightning-only wallet there are plenty out there. Muun excels for its efficient and inexpensive swaps from Lightning back to BTC - so much simpler and cheaper than going to Sideswap or Boltz and doing these steps manually. Here’s a recent test I did of Muun against Breez and Aqua:Aqua has fees to receive Lightning (or Liquid) and requires a separate swap step before sending. For sending 150k sats Aqua cost 1325 sats to bridge from Lightning to my cold storage wallet, whereas Muun saves a step, does the swap at the time of sending and only cost 575 total sats. (And Breez used Boltz for their swap/send, costing 2360!)A couple minor drawbacks of Muun, you cannot restore the wallet to another wallet app (only to a Muun app), and you cannot have your Muun account open on two devices simultaneously (unlike Aqua and Green)

Hello Jaggner, thank you for your feedback and kind words about Muun!We work hard to keep it simple, having a single balance that you can use to send and receive both types of payments, on-chain and off-chain. Also, we are always working to make our Lightning payments cheaper and faster!Regarding multiple sessions, I'll add your +1 to that requirement. If you want, could you please contact us at support@muun.com and explain why this is important to you? It helps us design a better solution and product.Lastly, indeed, Muun is not compatible with recovering funds in another wallet provider. Nevertheless, you always have a way to move your funds with your Recovery Tool - even if Muun is no longer available. That assures the self-custody of your funds.Remember you can always contact us at support@muun.com for any questions you may have! 🚀

  • Easy to use. Secure.

    Manikese

Great backup option. Very secure hot wallet. The support of Lightning Network is essential. My biggest complaint is that it cost the same amount of satoshis to send from the Lightning wallet as it does from the Bitcoin wallet in MUUN. If that is fixed then this would be tied for if not the best hot wallet.Update: I greatly appreciate the response. Now I understand the submarine swap infrastructure. The fees make sense. Since you don’t collect fees I can’t see this wallet being anything but a gift to society. In that, I greatly thank you. I would love a way to add money using Lightning and then spend from that instead of L1.

    Developer Response

Hi Manikase, thanks for reaching out and for your detailed message.Lightning transactions pay a network fee that depends on several factors, including the size of your payment, its route, and the funds you're using.Additionally, at Muun, some Lightning payments may carry a higher fee if your wallet needs to perform an under-the-hood Bitcoin transaction to complete it because of our submarine swap infrastructure (https://blog.muun.com/a-closer-look-at-submarine-swaps-in-the-lightning-network/). While this implementation offers rock-solid security and self-custodianship guarantees it also implies that some payments require an under-the-hood on-chain transaction with its fees. We're always working on reducing these to make all payments cheaper and faster. Also, please notice that Muun doesn't collect any of these fees.Let me know if this sheds some light on how Muun works.Update: Thank you for your response! It encourages us to keep pushing Muun forward. To the Muun 🚀

  • Nice simple wallet, one privacy flaw

    koffee66

Overall a nice simple wallet. However when tapping on “Receive”, Muun automatically checks the contents of your clipboard. Don’t know why or what it’s doing with what’s in there but this is poor privacy form. Please change this behavior.Update: developer contacted me to explain that Muun is checking for a BTC address or LN URL which is why it’s reading clipboard. This is poor privacy form. iOS provides an API to check for the existence of a URL. This is all that should be done without user action. The contents of the clipboard themselves should only be read on user action.

    Developer Response

Hello! You mean when you tap Receive and the scan button (LNURL) right? If that's correct, this is because Muun's checking if there's a Bitcoin address / LNURL in your clipboard to offer you to use it. Same happens when tapping on "Send". Please notice that this is a client-side verification only. You can verify this in our source code: https://github.com/muun/falcon
