As a Bindle user, you can record or import your COVID health credentials, and store them as secure, permanent, encrypted assets. Venues and workplaces use Bindle technology to match your credentials against their COVID health screening policies without accessing any of your private health data, and know with confidence that you are safe to enter.
Your health records are cryptographically signed and sealed, so you can be assured that the data is credible and stays private.
We continue to refine the My Bindle app to make sharing your COVID health status easy, secure and private. With this release, we added help content to guide first time users. There are also minor enhancements based on your feedback.

Do Not Recommend - Not Intuitive, Quite Buggy
Girlfriend and I attempted to download this app for a show in DC. App follows no logical progression at and provides very little guidance other than “give us information.” Additionally, girlfriend started her setup and then stopped (because I didn’t trust this app entirely, to be honest). Now it’s saying she’s already set up and needs to be “restored,” but when she does restore, it says “something went wrong.” Basically says that she’s already set up…but yet somehow not?? Which one is it? In either event, we’re just going to give our tickets and IDs to the venue. I do NOT recommend this app right not. Maybe with some more dev work…maybe.

I have never, ever written an app review before. That’s how bad this is.
When I set up my Bindle account, it was absolutely not clear that the app would only work on one device, ever. I got a new phone and set the new one up with a back-up from the phone that had Bindle on it. The app migrated, but my information did not. It says it cannot retrieve my information. I looked at Bindle’s FAQs page before posting this review. It says I should have a password for a back-up, but there is no prompt or option for entering a password. It also says my account isn’t actually backed up, anyway, so I can’t actually use a password? The one thing it *is* clear about is that my account is completely irretrievable now. According to the FAQs page, my only option is to set up an entirely new account *using a different email address*. It says you should not add your phone number to the new account. Obviously I want Bindle to protect privacy, but this is ridiculous.
Finally, I have a vaccinated child I take to performances and events. My spouse and I cannot add our child to our Bindle accounts.
This app is impractical and difficult and I hate it so much. I have truly never written an app review before. No app has ever made me this frustrated.

Hi Allison, We are really sorry to hear you had such a hard time with the app. And we are also sorry it drove you to write a bad review. We wish you had written us at email@example.com so we could have assisted you and explained why the app works the way it does. The Bindle wallet is a crypto wallet, it can not be backed up when you backup your phone. The encryption key for your data is stored in the secure enclave, where your ApplePay info is stored, and Apple doesn't back that up (which is why you have reset up all the credit cards on a new phone as well). We do have a method in the app (which could be more insistent) to allow you to backup the key on our servers in a secure manner. If you don't do that though, you are forced to create a new wallet. We know this can be a hassle and we are almost done with a way to allow you to re-use your email. As for taking your child, that is another feature we are working on, but it's not as easy as you might think. The Bindle wallet is a self sovereign identity solution, which means adding more than one user to a wallet requires a lot of planning and work. Your data and the protection of it are of the utmost importance to us. We encrypt it all with the highest grade encryption available to us. We are working hard to make the process easier while still protecting against identity fraud and other threats, but we are a small company that was founded to try to help the country's venues open up in a safe and inexpensive manner, so we are small company with limited resources, we can't just hire hundreds of programmers when we would like to. The app seems like it was put together in about a week by someone who was new to iOS development. It is not functional.
- Error messages are just nonexistent or useless. “Failed to generate a pass.” Why? Why did you fail? How do I fix it?
- For multiple dose vaccines, you have to enter each dose separately. The app never prompts you to do that. You have to read it on their website when trying to troubleshoot the unhelpful “failed to generate a pass” error.
- Multiple dose vaccines appear to be impossible to import. If you try to add a first dose after a later one (see above) you just get a blank white screen. Every time. Reliably. On multiple devices and accounts.
- Trying to make a new “bundle” doesn’t seem to be allowed with the same email. There’s no error; the app just completely ignores you tapping the “next” button to move forward.
I sincerely hope no venues are requiring this app for entry. It doesn’t seem to be speeding anything along for an attendee, and with the fact that 90% of their users will be at the door explaining “that app is nonfunctional” I can’t imagine it will save the venue any time either.
The kicker? If you try to go to the “app support” link within the App Store, the developer gave Apple a broken link so you can’t even get help that way.
