The My Garden app inspires you with projects and gives you the information you need to turn that inspiration into action: creating your very own little spot on the Earth.

How does My Garden work? First, you tell us what you want – pick your preferences on the type of gardening you want to do. Then the app pulls info about your local conditions – location, temperature and season to give you the best ideas for plants and projects that you can successfully grow. And, just in case you find My Garden after you’ve already planted, the app can still help you monitor your existing plants.

My Garden identifies hundreds of different plants, both for decoration or to eat, that will thrive in your neck of the woods – how to plant them, care for them, and enjoy the fruits (or vegetables, or herbs, or flowers…) of your labor. Plus you’ll get helpful reminders because plants don’t forget, but human beings do.

So far so good

We aren’t in season now so I haven’t used the app to its full extent, but I like it so far. Would love the addition of a “pet friendly” filter for indoors!

Apps good minus a few details

I love this app. It helps me with watering reminders. I just wish there were more plant varieties (which, I get it, are too many varieties for one app to hold bit a few more common ones would be great), my other complaint is that it doesn't notify you when its time to water your plants. It asks if I'll allow notifications and then it never notifies me so then I need to mark down when I need to water my plants so I remember and then I need to remember to go into the app to mark it off my to so list. It's a lengthy process. I also kinda wish the plants that get marked off would go to the bottom of the list so I can be looking at the next ones so I don't have to keep going in and out of the plants to see which one needs to be watered yet.

None of my basic starter plants are on the app

Just got a few houseplants for the first time ever from Home Depot a few days ago to help me cope with this COVID-19. Thought this app would be helpful with the reminders since I am a first time plant mom and don't know what I'm doing. My four plants are: lucky bamboo (dracena sanderiana), grow your own lavender seeds (lavandula agustifolia), and two succulents (haworthia and echeveria). None of these plants are even in the app so it is utterly useless to me. Deleted.

Developer Response ,

We're sorry that the app did not have your plants. This is not what we expect out of the app and would love to help resolve this for you. Please contact us at https://www.scotts.com/en-us/email-us for additional assistance.
