BEAST

This is the beast app that I found for adding in water and drinks and such things like that, because it’s all pretty much calculated. I love that it’s easy to use with my Apple Watch as well I just click in what type of drink I want to add and I choose the volume of the drink that I drank and it adds it right into my health app and everything so that way when I print out a PDF to give to my doctors they can really see that I am keeping up with my house which is important right now because I have a T. B. I.

I do you want to say that I’d like to see an integration into the camera where you could just scan the nutritional facts on the back of the bottle and say that you drink the whole bottle and it would just do it that way but I’d be a whole techie person, algorithm writing Saga that would have to happen.

Hi, Thank you for your review, we are glad to read it! About the proposal to read drinks by barcode - we will definitely think about it, thank you. And maybe will it possible. We wish you good health!

Personally I think the app is a great way of keeping track of your water intake. There are just some things I wish could improve. The youngest you can be for this app is 14.. why can’t it be a little younger, having enough water is important and with your age it is important to how much you need (also depending on your weight). And the only “free” drinks you can put on the water log is Water, coffee, and tea. When I try to put a smoothie on it, it says I have to pay for it. I know the whole point of the app is to drink water, but I personally think you should be able to put in the log that you drank something else than water, coffee, and tea. I think you shouldn’t have to pay to be able to add a selection of different drinks. Another thing about the age, it is good to start healthy habits when your young so they stay with you, so I think the age should be 12. Tweens should be starting good healthy habits so that it stays with them when they are older. Other then that I think the app is OKAY. I’m not trying to run down this app, all I think is some things should change :). But it is a good way to track your daily water intake.

Regards,
Sarah

Helpful App, but watch weight tracking!

The app is extremely helpful in tracking the amount of water you intake and in the paid version ($20 for the year) you can breakdown a lot of different types of drinks, and even the actual amount of H2O in each drink like coffee, and even gives you negative ounces for consuming alcohol!

However if you use the weight tracking feature, and you use a Apple Watch to track your activity and you connect the app to your health data, for some reason the app resets your weight to the default 107lbs! This is a HUGE problem if you’re trying to close your “Move” ring and you weigh more (I’m 235lbs). I didn’t notice until I was exercising and noticed it was taking me more than twice as long to burn my usual amount of calories! I finally realized that when I entered my weight in the app, for some reason it reset my weight in my iOS health to the app’s default weight (107lbs). First I reset it manually in iOS, which worked until the next time I updated my weight in the app, at which time the same thing happened.

So... until this is fixed, either don’t connect the app to iOS health or don’t allow the app to make changes to your weight.

Hi, Check your connection with Apple Health to import/export weight data. Please open on the main screen and press on Track your weight, and press on the icon on the right upper corner and you will see the button connect to Apple Healt. Or open in the Apple Health category Weight and check Data Sources & Access if it allows importing/exporting weight data. If it will not help you contact us on this email mail@victorsharov.com.
