Works fine after fix
It's a straight forward app for tracking value of US bonds. Only thing I could think to add would be the addition of the current and overall rate of returns for the bonds. It's something that changes every update so it'd be nice to see. I report the hiccup at the last update (values to $0) but saw all the info was there so I wasn't too worried. He fixed it in a short turn around so you know he's still there. It has simple sorts if you want to see value, dates. Allows for multiple portfolios of bonds and a grand total.
Too simple, basic info not tracked
Thought this app would at least be as good as a simple program I downloaded to my computer in 2015, but far from it.
First, I was expecting a more thorough accounting of my bonds. I’m wondering why it doesn’t cover certain minimum information. Like a real inventory. Should allow entry of the bond’s Serial Number, along with interest rate and yield, interest amount and current value, next interest date and final maturity date.
Second, even though “serial” was on a bar at the bottom of the screen, I could find no way to actually enter the serial number of each of my bonds. Why?
Third, there seems to be no way to print out a listing of my bonds.
Hopefully an upcoming update will improve this basic tracking information. For $2.99, I expected more.
Developer Response ,
Hello, thank you for your feedback! We're sorry you're not totally satisfied with your purchase. Please note that interest rate, interest amount, current value, next accrual, and final maturity are all tracked automatically by MyBonds - we do that work for you so that you don't have to type it all in. Also, we are unaware of any bug involving the input of a bond's Serial Number - you can touch the white text input box when editing a bond - but if you send details to us at firstname.lastname@example.org, we will be happy to investigate for you. Printing bond inventory is a much requested feature, and we hope to make it available in a future release. Thanks for using MyBonds.
My suggestions for improvement would be to add a field to be able to show bonds that are cashed in. I would suggest a field with redemption date and value, then set current value to zero.
The current interest rate for each bond would be a nice additiin also.
I use the tracker to know how much the bonds are worth before cashing them in at the bank.
