Mostly nonfunctional

My old bank had an app that was clunky, but worked. They switched to this one and I was able to connect pretty easily. It uses Touch ID for authentication, which my old bank’s app didn’t do.

It does allow me to pay my bill, although I pretty much have to guess or calculate what the statement balance is, or wait for the bill to arrive by mail before I pay. Which is not ideal.

Also, I can’t see ANY of my individual transactions, which makes it pretty useless for tracking account activity or security. And I KNOW you want to track my location “for security purposes,” but I said “no.” So STOP ASKING every time I log in, OK?

This app does not correctly perform more than a couple of the functions that every other credit card app routinely handles, including the app it replaced. So I guess it’s back to paying by paper check through the mail.

Yikes! It’s bad.

The bank originally linked to my Mastercard was recently acquired by TCM Bank, which is listed as the developer of the MyCard Mobile app. I concur with all of these other reviewers; the development of this mobile app is abysmal at best. And it doesn’t look like they are listening to the reviewer complaints either – last significant update was more than a year ago. Here are some key issues. Want the “Current Balance” on your credit card? It is not listed on default screen; you need to drill down another level for that info. Do you want a list of your “Latest Transactions” including payments you made? Sorry, payments are NOT considered transactions. What? No, you need to hit the “Pay” button, drill down to another screen to either make a payment, or view your payment activity. I just don’t get it, there are so many examples of user-friendly credit card apps out there (AmEx, BofA, Chase, Discover, Capital One, etc). The fact that TCM Bank would even deploy something like this for their customers to use, and has failed to improve the app through regular updates, says a lot about their business. Bottom line, avoid this app, you’ll only be frustrated.

Not terrible

Generally functions as it should, however getting it set up and running is more confusing than other bigger bank apps.

1. It requires you to set up a separate user name and password than what you are using for the website.

2. After you have set up and logged in the first time, you need to tap "Pay" as if you want to pay your credit card bill, in order for the app to pull forward your card info. Only after I did this was I able to see available balance, recurring payments, etc.
