Where do I even start?

Of course there are going to be thousands of kids on here complaining about the circle. I am a junior, and I personally hate the circle, but that’s not why I am here. If you hate the circle you should talk to your parents about it. I’m here because circle go is a product not ready to be sold to the public. the idea is great on paper but it really doesn’t work. I am often blocked at random intervals during the day. Even calls and iMessage are barely functional after bedtimes. This is a huge problem because it is potentially dangerous. Imagine being out late at night and you need to get a hold of your parents immediately. With the circle go, that isn’t an option. I could call, but that isn’t always a convenient option! iMessage is very skippy and can’t be trusted to get an important message out.

Parents, the circle go is super easy to circumvent. I found out how not 30 seconds after having the app installed. For the sake of my fellow kids under the control of the tyrant circle, I’m not going to list the process here, but it’s quite easy. It’s also supposed to send a notification to your parents when you circumvent the circle, but it doesn’t as long as you don’t go over any time limits whilst disconnected.

Over all, the circle is horrible beyond reason, but it also makes sense. Your parents love and care about you and don’t want you to misuse the internet. But circle go needs to be worked on and sold when it is a complete product.

Developer Response ,

Hey there! Thanks for your review. Circle Go can't impact iMessage or calling however. It works to augment network traffic, and doesn't interfere with those types of connections you've mentioned. You're also misinformed about how our notifications work. We'd love to chat with your parents however. Have them email us at help@meetcircle.com?

Logs unused time

Hello! Yes, I might be a 15 year old girl, but I am not here just to complain about how annoying the idea of the app is to social teens like myself. This app has such a wonderful concept, as kids and teens nowadays are becoming more and more addicted to their phones every day. It is really nice for parents like mine with multiple teens that use their free time playing games or using social media. However, this app truly just does not work. For example, It might tell my parents that I have used over 5 hours on Snapchat while I have been at school, not on my phone. This gives my parents the wrong idea about me, as they imagine I am using my phone rather than paying attention. Other times, it might say I have been on my phone for around 6 hours, but if you check the things that “I have been doing”, it will say that I have spent 4 hours on “Uncategorized Apps”. But in reality these four hours were not spent doing anything. My dad gets extremely annoyed when I have to ask him for time so that I can do homework, because I have “been on my phone all day”, while I haven’t even been on it half the time that circle has logged. If you are a parent looking for a way to limit their children’s screen time, I would not recommend this app. I do know that Apple devices IOS 11 or above (I’m pretty sure...maybe 10 or 9?) has a similar way to do this called “Screen Time”. If you are interested, I would definitely look into that.

Good idea, doesn’t work.

To start off I am a teenager. My dad got this app a few years ago. I have always been a good student with 98 averages. When I was in elementary school my dad got this app so that he can see what we are doing on our electronics. He didn’t put a time limit on it yet. The first day we had the app I was either reading or playing dolls the whole day, because I got bored on my phone easily back then. That day it said I was on my iPad for 10 hours!!! After that my dad put on a time limit. He made it so we can still text, call, and FaceTime after our time limit. When we reach our time limit we can’t text or FaceTime and our dad has to fix that daily. It also counts apps that I don’t even have! Like Facebook. I don’t even have Facebook, only my mom has Facebook! But it said I was on Facebook the whole day and I didn’t have any time. Sometimes when I wake up I have no time. My dad would constantly have to give us more time and he would get annoyed any time we asked for more time. It will also block certain stuff on google. When I try to look up a Barbie doll, it will block me from looking up barbie! And other stuff, too. My dad never blocked us for looking up stuff.
It also ruined our trust in each other. Like I said I was a good kid but this app makes me want to so badly doing something bad, because my parents don’t even trust me. I always behave, of course.
Overall, a very bad app.
