Description

My Cocktail Book is an app created by London based Mixologist and Bar Consultant: Gavin Forbes. It was created with bartenders and cocktail enthusiasts in mind and we hope you enjoy it.

The app is designed to help you organize and remember the various cocktails you create and discover by providing a secure way for you to store and backup your recipes. Gone are the days of scribbled down recipes on pieces of till roll which inevitably end up as mulch in your washing machine.

We have tried to make it easy to share your drinks with friends (and us) by including email sharing and posting to Facebook so you can show your drinks to all your friends!

Take a photo; add information including glassware, ice, ingredients, method and garnish; and organize those drinks by category. Those categories are completely up to you. We use them to organize our own drinks, classic drinks, friends drinks and to create menus at places we work or have worked.

We have included some of our own signature drinks, our colleagues drinks and a selection of classics. We have used our preferred recipes but we actively encourage you to change them as you please. That is the beauty of My Cocktail Book!

Over time we will be adding new cocktail recipes directly to the app, which will be available for every user to import for free. If you want us to add one of your signature drinks, email your recipe using the share function to info@mycocktailbook.com.

Have fun!

- Over 350 drinks included
- Edit drinks to your preferred style
- Add your own drinks
- Delete the ones you don't want
- Print drink details

- All in this easy to use app

Crashed and lost data

I spent a considerable amount of time entering cocktails until the app crashed. When I reopened it, my cocktails were gone. I think this app has been dipping into the well drinks.

Developer Response ,

Hello Peter,

I’m very sorry to hear that the app crashed and you lost your drink recipes. That’s unusual with the new updated version of MyCocktailBook.

I’ve spent countless hours adding new recipes to my app, but luckily it’s never crashed on me.

Could you please let me know what model of iPhone / or iPad you are using and when you installed the application?

I always appreciate any positive or negative feedback from users in order to make improvements on future updates.

My aim was always to help other drink enthusiasts by giving them an application to store their own recipes, so thank you for your feedback and I will do everything I can to follow up and make sure any future improvement are user friendly and reliable.

Kind regards,

Gavin

I love this app, but it has glitches

I love this app but it freezes if you try to edit a photo of an existing drink and there are a few recipes you can't delete or it freezes. Also, I can't toggle between categories. Otherwise, I love this app and have a great need for it as a bartender where we have over 100 cocktails on the menu as well as 100s more we have to know that aren't on the menu. I just wish I could insert pictures of our version of the cocktail.

Developer Response ,

Try downloading it again as I’ve updated the app. It should run smoothly now. Enjoy, Gavin

Still a winner in 2014!

This may be an older app (perhaps abandoned by its creators?), but in my opinion it is the best, largely for the same reasons the previous reviewer noted. I wanted an app in which I could enter, in a single place, the many cocktail recipes I’ve highlighted in various books or gathered over the years. What makes this app stand out is its adaptability. It allows me to add not only my own cocktails, but my own drink categories (e.g., Rye Drinks) and my own glass categories (I can add photographs of my preferred glasses as well). The app includes some nice recipes, but not an overwhelming number, and these can be freely modified or even deleted. True to the app's name, the result is MY cocktail book and doesn’t contain thousands of unmodifiable recipes that I don’t want. (I’d take a star off for it not yet being updated to iPhone 5 size, but I give it back for the unbeatable price and superior functions). Note to developers: Please consider updating—you could charge for this thing!
