Works like it should

I am an Army veteran and I use DART for many reasons. I use it to get to my medical appointments at the VA hospital, to have visitation with my children in Waukee, to help me get to the American legion where I volunteer, and to make sure I can still get around town to do my own things without relying on friends for rides. I gave it four stars only because it’s real time feature is not always accurate. I am going to assume that it’s difficult to accurately place the bus at the exact point all the time…but there’s been times when it has said that the bus has left one minute ago and I leave the bus stop …then I see it go right past behind me. That’s frustrating. But otherwise I love this app. All I have to do is put in my current location and my destination. Then it tells me exactly in step by step directions when I need to leave my house, what bus stop to be at, what time that bus will arrive, transfers and exact time I will arrive at my destination. It gives me several different options of bus routes I can choose from for my trip. I use this app on my phone more than any other app. It has been a blessing for me because I am not good with directions or being on time. If I had to use a paper route schedule I would be screwed.

DARR Review

I have never had a problem with the bus system and the drivers have always been very good to me.
The only reason I gave four stars instead of five is that sometimes I wish we were still using the transfer process instead of having to do everything on line. I can live with this though.

Update—from clumsy to useless

I updated hoping they fixed the ‘tap three places just to display your ticket’ interface. They didn’t. Instead they made it virtually impossible to find the one piece of info anybody using this app would want: when is the next bus coming? It defaulted from my northbound stop to displaying the southbound (because it is ‘nearer,’ maybe?). I apparently have to memorize which number is the southbound one, or tap one to see which direction it’s going & if it’s the right one. I finally figured out to drag down to update, not tap the info you want to get, as in the previous version. Anyway, it’s a mess. I’ll see if Google maps has realtime info & is usable.
