Downloaded this app when it first came out. Back when they used to give free 2GB on sundays if you had the app. It worked fine then. Still works fine now except it crashes if I move around within the app too fast. Guess they still have free stuff with the shake it to win part. Don’t see what’s the use when I can see my balance and data usage all from txting *120# and *130# from my phone itself. The only thing I dislike about this app is how much space it takes up. Apart from that it’s alright.

“This feature is temporarily unavailable.” Get used to the sound of those words. When it works, the Digicel app is decent, allowing you to top up and purchase plans easily. The problem is that it hardly ever works. Like almost never. It’s truly awful. In the 5+ years I’ve used this app and Digicel service, I’d estimate that it has worked roughly 10% of the time or less. While it says that My Digicel internet traffic is free, the app will not work if you’ve run out of credits. So, if you run out of credits, you can’t top up unless you have a local Wi-Fi signal, which doesn’t make much sense. But even if you DO have a local Wi-Fi signal, as I currently do, the app STILL doesn’t work much of the time. I’ve been trying to top up and purchase a data plan for several days now, but can’t because the app is broken. I get all the way to the purchase screen, enter my CC info, and then get the spinning wheel of death and the purchase never goes through. You’d think they would prioritize making something that brings them money work well, but apparently not. Bottom line—digicel’s service and their app are very unreliable.

Digicel has taken my card and has been double charging me without any option to remove the card from the app or stop the auto renewal of plans. I’ve gone in person multiple times to their stores and they’ve refused to rectify the problem asking for proof via bank statements that such occurred and then doing nothing about the issue afterwards.They are aware they are doing it to do much customers they are trying to grab cash from their clients because digicel is currently going bankruptThey have claimed it’s not possible for them to remove the card from their system, and also apparently they’ve claimed they don’t have access to records on their end showing charges in general so they can’t reverse it unless you get statements going as far back as when it first started. They are also saying that it is not possible for them to reverse the charges or refund cash to the bank account and they can only offer credit. This is absolutely sick corporate greed, they are taking advantage of normal people to make up for their failure as a business and trying to grab up cash before going under.

So I was against downloading this app but eventually I changed my mind and did. At first I didn’t regret it, the app was a great idea, could have been more used friendly but they made a few improvements & it got better. Now I’m not sure what’s happening but it’s starting to say “this feature is temporarily unavailable. We are actively working on fixing it.” Well it seems they are not working actively enough because it has been saying that a little too often & for way too long now. I am highly disappointed. I say download at your own risk because when it works it’s good, it’s like they draw you in with something shiny & it works but when you get used to it, it just stops working. All that glitters is not gold.
