This version of the MyFord mobile app is available for Ford C-Max Energi and Fusion Energi Plug-in Hybrids as well as Focus Electric vehicles equipped with embedded modems. MyFord Mobile allows consumers to manage vehicle functions from a smartphone. This app will work in combination with the MyFordMobile website to give access to consumers in the method which works best for their lifestyles.
The MyFord Mobile app allows consumers to:
- View the current state of charge and fuel level
- Commence charging
- Precondition the vehicle cabin temperature by setting ‘Go Times’
- View Value Charge profiles
- Find charge stations
- Lock/Unlock Doors
Consumers will initially receive MyFord Mobile free of charge at purchase, and for a fee after the initial 5 year subscription subsides. Charging doesn’t follow the online profile I made. It’s so frustrating. I have 3 different electricity charge times. My car didn’t charge during the cheapest time, but started in the middle of the most expensive time. Arrrrg!!!! What’s the point!!! I double checked online (since you can’t fix location profiles from the app-lame), and It’s all correctly done online. I’d rather be able to turn on/off charging from my phone and set alarms for myself rather than play roulette with charging times. But, that’s not possible from the app. You literally have to plug and unplug your car manually if you want to do that. Maybe I’ll get a smart plug adapter and do it from that instead. It’s kinda sad that those $10 smart plugs can do something my $30K plug in car app can’t.
Electric is the future, so you should really start putting in the groundwork now...
Should have same features as ford pass app
App is ok when it works but I rarely use it now. I was so happy when I bought my new 2017 Fusion Titanium energi because not only did I love the car but I also thought I would have the same functions on this app as the Ford pass app. I was sadly mistaken. If I would have known that before I purchased the car I probably would have looked more into the Ford Fusion Titanium like I went in to purchase. The app isn’t bad when it works but it’s not great either and after my 5 years I wouldn’t pay anything for this app, if I even keep the car that long. The “bug fix” they say was recently fixed wasn’t really fixed. Instead of the app always logging you out every time you did anything on the app now it only occasionally signs you out and the contact customer service at the 800# doesn’t show up as much. If they added the Ford pass features with the features on this app and the issues with this app weren’t at frequent as they still are after several “fixes” and updates then this app would be great. Other than that I could completely be fine without ever having this app.
Can you make it work better for an iPhone?
I like this app, but if I want to go back or go to a different screen I have to exit the entire app. The back button does not work due to the design of the new Apple phones. The developers need to update this. Also I noticed that looking for a charge place does not bring you to the right charging station. I was brought to a Tesla station which does not work on this car. I was also brought to the Nissan dealership which again did not work on this car. I really like being able to lock the doors and see what’s going on with my car from my phone, although the other day it said it was in the Gulf of Mexico...ha!
