Confirm Rx™ from Abbott is the world’s first smartphone compatible Insertable Cardiac Monitor (ICM). The slim profile device continuously monitors your heart rhythm and automatically records events of interest as configured by your doctor. The myMerlin™ app securely and proactively transmits information per a schedule set by your doctor. The app’s intuitive user-friendly interface allows you to record symptomatic events, view past and upcoming transmissions and ensures that you stay connected with your doctor. This makes monitoring your heart’s rhythm easy, effective, and discreet.
This app will only function once paired with a Confirm Rx™ Insertable Cardiac Monitor, an implantable device available via prescription only.
This update includes a minor bug fix to address an issue with 32-bit iPhones (iPhone 5/5c).
Ratings and Reviews
Hasn’t worked once!!!
It angers me that Apple would allow an app like this in the App Store. Clearly it hasn’t been tested, and clearly no one is working on fixing it.
The Confirm Rx monitor is NOT FDA Approved, it is only FDA Cleared. There has been one recall on the device already, and there should certainly be another.
The app NEVER connects to the monitor, and the app has NEVER sent any data to my Doctors office.
The app hasn’t been updated in almost a year!
Every morning I get a notification that the app failed, telling me to go into the app (which is always open) and try resending or reconnecting, but when I go into the app, there is no way for me to do anything. It always reads “your monitor was checked today”. The screen is always green. The app is absolutely no different from a still graphic.
If your Doctor suggests implanting anything from StJude (or Abbot), run. He (or she) is probably getting a kick back from the company and do not care about your health.
I have tried everything to get this app to work. I have tried hard rebooting my phone, quitting the app, restarting the app, staying awake between the hours of two and four am when the app is supposed to be collecting data, you name it, I tried it. I’m all alone with no support.
Won’t stay connected
Since day 1 I have had trouble with loop recorder and app staying connected to my iPhone 7+ Either says won’t connect, problem with connection or now it won’t connect to device. What good is technical support if you have to stay on hold more than 20 minutes??? The first technician I spoke with said he would stay in touch until the app and device were finally working together. He called maybe 2 days later then nothing. I just had an Ablation and really need this device to do its job🤬🤬🤬🤬 it’s only my life that’s gonna be affected if something goes wrong!!! I’m writing this while I have been on hold trying to get technical support. Dang neither my phone company Or Directtv take this long to answer🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️
Disconnects Every Day
Why can’t they come out with an update to fix this very important app. Almost every morning I have to reconnect the app to my phone. We all know it takes 3 minutes as you sit and watch it connect. My phone is right next to me every night so no reason it should disconnect. What good is the app, if you actually are having symptoms and go to record and you have to wait 3 minutes for it to reconnect. By then your symptoms can be gone. Please consider a different company before having their loop recorder implanted.
