MTA APP REVIEW!!
It’s a so-so App!! When combined with the MTA, e-tix App, you can buy a future planned trip, in advance!! But other than that it’s limited to just MTA transit service transportation!! And it doesn’t instantly provide that service according to your location unless you type what you want in. The TRANSIT APP is the best there is because it gives ALL FORMS of TRANSPORTATION (Including water ferries) in the Tri-State Area as well as wherever your location might be!!
They fixed my biggest complaint
The map used to snap to random locations when you would scroll around, so I’m a happy camper. Would like to see an overlay of the train system on the map, though. The bug with favorite bus stops not showing has been fixed. The user interface is the same, so it’s still unintuitive and requires lots of taps to get to the screen you want. I think that the next project they tackle should be to let us pick our home screen; allowing us to choose if it starts with our favorites, the map etc. Happy to see that they’re improving the app.
Since day 1 of the pandemic lockdown, the MTA removed morning arrival times from the app. This makes it difficult for the legitimate essential passengers to plan their unpleasant enough morning commute.
Most days, on my way to hospital, I’d enter the station to see I’d just missed a train, and would have to wait 30 minutes for the next. I’d show up earlier the next day, thinking the times would be consistent, wrong. The signs in the station show arrival times, but not the app.
For some reason, arrival times would be on app later in the day.
Just not when needed.
