Description
Highest rated top 5 weather application.
Thanks to everyone for making MyRadar so successful, with over 50 million downloads!
MyRadar Pro is IDENTICAL to the free version of MyRadar; it comes without the ads by default.
MyRadar is a fast, powerful, easy-to-use weather app that displays animated weather radar around your current location and to quickly show what weather is coming your way. Just start the app; your location pops up with animated live radar, with radar loop lengths of up to two hours. This basic functionality provides the quickest way to get a snapshot of the weather on-the-go, and it's what has made MyRadar so successful over the years. Check your phone and get an instant assessment of the weather that will impact your day.
In addition to the live radar, MyRadar has an ever-increasing list of weather and environmentally-related data layers that you can overlay on top of the map; our animated winds layer shows a breathtaking visual representation of both surface winds and winds at the jetstream level; the frontal boundaries layer shows high and low pressure systems as well as frontal boundaries themselves; the earthquakes layer is a great way to stay on top of the latest reports on seismic activity, completely customizable as to severity and time; our hurricane layer allows users to stay on top of the latest tropical storm and hurricane activity throughout the world; the aviation layer overlays AIRMETs, SIGMETs and other aviation-related data, including the ability to track flights and display their IFR flight plans and paths, and the "wildfires" layer allows users to stay abreast of the latest fire activity around the United States.
MyRadar also has the ability to send weather and environmental alerts, including alerts from the National Weather Service, such as Tornado and Severe Weather alerts. A new feature introduced in this version of MyRadar includes the ability to receive alerts based off of Tropical Storm and Hurricane activity; you can configure the app to send you an alert any time a tropical storm or hurricane forms, or is upgraded or downgraded.
One of the most useful features in MyRadar is the ability to provide advanced rain alerts; our patent-pending process for predicting hyper-local rainfall is the most accurate in the industry. Instead of having to check the app all the time, MyRadar will send you an alert up to an hour in advance as to when the rain will arrive at your current location, down to the minute, including details on intensity and duration. These alerts can be a life saver when you're on-the-go and don't always have time to check the weather - our systems will proactively do the work for you and let you know in advance before the rain hits.
In addition to the free features of the app, additional upgrades are available, including real-time hurricane tracking - great for the start of hurricane season. The hurricane tracker provides additional data above and beyond the free version, including the cone of probability for tropical storm/hurricane forecast tracks, and it also includes a detailed synopsis from the National Hurricane Center. The premium upgrades also include the professional radar pack, which allows greater detail of radar from individual stations. Users can select individual radar stations around the US, select the radar tilt angle, and also change the radar product being displayed, including base reflectivity and wind velocity - great for experienced weather buffs looks to stay on top of possible tornado formation.

"Classic Radar" is replaced with a new option called "Composite Radar":
- Higher resolution than the previous classic radar mode.

- Includes two options from "HD Radar" (global satellite enhancement and precipitation classification), which can be turned off if undesirable.
Other:

- Fixes a crash that would sometimes happen on startup (introduced in 7.99.1).
- Fixes a bug where the scroll position was lost when switching between radar/weather animation types in the list.
Fixed in 7.99.1:
- Fixes a crash when submitting a diagnostic report (introduced in 7.99.0).
Fixed in 7.99.2:
- Fixes a crash that could occur during low-memory situations for some users (introduced in 7.99.0).
Fixed in 7.99.3:

Ratings and Reviews
Finally! After SO Much Searching
I think I’ve finally found a weather app worth keeping. First off, the pricing structure. A dev team that understands that forcing a subscription model for an app service that can easily be found for free, is not the right move. Giving the OPTION for a one time payment (which I am willing to do without hesitation) OR a subscription for additional features that the normal weather update seeker doesn’t need. OPTIONS…..something the App Store lacks these days.
Features - This app has everything I need. Details when I need it, collapsible when I don’t, radar, alerts that are customizable. I didn’t think I was picky about must-have features in a weather app but apparently I am because it took me easily over 30 app downloads to find this one and so far I’m loving it.
With the nearing departure of Dark Sky I think there is going to be a scramble for good replacement and this one is going to be or should be among the top contenders. I think the only thing that could hurt them is a forced subscription but so far a good play by them IMO.
Red Flood Warning Boxes (updated)
I received a response about the red flood warning boxes, and thank you Andy for that. However, the opacity changes all weather warning boxes. And, spotting severe thunderstorm tornado warning boxes are next to impossible with the bright red persistent flood warnings. I know they’ve been red for 10 years, but I truly believe you will find many would agree that changing those flood boxes from red to a more subdued color would make the tornado warnings, etc. much easier to find. (As all other radars have done.) You’ve got clouds and rain in blue and purple. And, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes in similar color scheme. I think most would like a change and adapt quite quickly.
One thing would make it perfect.... (yep, 2 stars to 5). These red boxes for river and snow melt flooding are always there.... and because they are in red they obstruct the view of other weather data or severe warning boxes. These boxes are long lasting and a nuisance. I’ve had to disable watch boxes because you can’t see what’s what. The Mississippi and Missouri Valleys are examples of an overload of red boxes that you can’t remove. If there was a way to disable these and other statements one by one, that would help. Then in the event of a severe thunderstorm or tornado outbreak I’d just keep it on this app for instead of switching to another. And quite honestly, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes shouldn’t be blue or lavender... really?

Hey there! You can change the opacity of the warning boxes by tapping the "Warnings and Watches" layer within the Layers menu (3rd icon from the left). We're working on allowing a feature to disable the display of certain warning boxes - but you're right, those warnings are persistent warnings from the National Weather Service, and they're always present :( As for the color of the warning boxes, those were chosen nearly 10 years ago when they were the standard colors from the National Weather Service. We're hesitant to change them for fear of confusing our existing users - they would definitely get annoyed (understood from our experiences). Definitely reach out to me directly for more info via email to feedback at myradar.com - my name's Andy!
I never leave reviews, but this app... update.
Maybe my memory is not the best but it seems the desire to make money above all else is why I am changing from 5 stars to 1. I purchased hurricane tracker two years ago. Being my favorite radar app even though I could track the same data on different apps, I paid to give back to the app, now with this hurricane season it seems to me that if I want that data I have to pay for more subscriptions. Even after refreshing my previous purchases. I click on the storm and get prompted to purchase. I guess I’ll fully make the transition to a different app now.
I've used this for years. In my old position we would turn to this app for fast visuals when preparing water rescues and staging boat teams. Now that I've moved positions, I use the add on that lets you view unsocial radar towers and we prepare based off of what the individual tower shows. Can't say enough about the app. The only addition I would add is an explanation of the wind feature and what elevation that is at. Since obviously you'll see winds going one way and the storms another. Play with the features. You can make this app pretty amazing if you spend the time. Hey, my radar, maybe find a way to link in your travel plans or route or search an exact location so we can see where friends are and what the weather is doing. I've used the app to update family traveling in other states but it would just streamline the process.

You should DEFINITELY not have to pay more than once for the hurricane tracker - please reach out to me directly via email to feedback at myradar.com - my name's Andy - I'll make sure this is resolved.
