Good but not great

I'll start with a side note – it's time to update the description for this game, because it doesn't involve a missing bus of university students!

The actual storyline is interesting enough, though. The graphics, animation and voice acting are fine. I liked the addition of Polaroids that you can use to find hidden stashes. Your pet dog Elf returns, although he is rarely used this time. There is a good blend of HOPs and minigames, although most were a little too easy for me.

The negatives concern mostly the controls. You frequently have to mash the screen to get the hidden objects. The map enables teleportation and is supposed to show current tasks, but often it didn't show any available scenes. The inventory is labeled and you can lock the bar in position, which is great; but there is no journal, and you cannot configure difficulty beyond one of three high-level options.

I probably won't replay this, but it was worth the $2.99 that I paid on sale.

Almost the Same game from April 10, 2014

I thought mystery trackers and Rain Cliff were the same game, so I started playing them side by side. The theme is the same, graphics are different and very pretty, so for $5 I will probably by this game unless it has problems, which we all know could happen after we pay for it. So far so good.
Good Luck,

TAKING ONE STAR AWAY BECAUSE tapping objects on these games are irritating. Either you have to beat your iPad to death or you barely touch it and it was the one thing you didn't want to do. And it just seems to be the Mystery Tracker games.

Elephant Games

I have really enjoyed games from Elephant in the past, but rated this game only 4 stars. Elephant is falling back on its reputation for great games, but is beginning to feel a little stale lately. It has great transporting hint buttons, good music, and above average (not great) voice overs, although there is no mouth movement. Graphics are getting outdated. Blue Tea Games have incredible graphics, great voice overs with mouth movement, and very good music, but suffer from poor tapping response. Maybe these two excellent companies could learn something from each other?
