Don’t buy!

****UPDATE***vtech responded with the exact useless apology I pointed out in my review AND told me to call customer service even though they were completely USELESS and I wasted almost an hour on the phone w/them already! Still have yet to receive a response to my email! ******

When I first got this camera and the app I thought it was great. Just as MANY OTHERS have stated, the motion recordings suddenly stopped working recently. To make matters worse when I called customer service they person I spoke to had absolutely no idea how to help me and claimed that this is not a common problem. Well it obviously is and since there seems to be no plan to fix this I will be returning it and telling anyone who will listen not to purchase any vtech devices in the future. Parents depend on these features and for someone to respond to every review with a generic apology is pointless. Just get your programmers to fix the problem. Simple.

We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused by the malfunction of the motion recordings on your vtech camera and app.
We have escalated your case to our technical team. They have provided a quick fix for the issue through a firmware upgrade over the air. The firmware upgrade requires manual operation, which includes performing a power reset on the camera unit. After power reset on camera the latest firmware version RM5754/RM5764/RM7764 V2.0.4.6 will fix the problem on event recording.

Don’t waste your money

Was great AT FIRST till it wasn’t. The app keeps logging me out and won’t let me back in, tells me my password and log in is wrong when it fact it is not and I have to enter it about 10 times before it lets me back in, only to check again later and it’s logged me back out again! The motion recording just all of a sudden has stopped recording, this is one feature that I depend on and a huge reason why I picked this one. Several times I have woke up and the camera goes offline for no reason at all and will not reconnect without being unplugged and plugged back in, so frustrating, not knowing if your baby cried all night or slept all night because this piece of crap went offline!! I can’t return or exchange because I’m out of the time frame, but at this point I’m ready to trash and take the L and buy another brand, I assure you I will never buy any vtech things in the future!!

For the App login issue, have you tried using a different device or network to see if the issue persists? In the meantime, we suggest checking your internet connection and ensuring that your device's operating system and app are up to date.

Disappointed

We are extremely disappointed in our monitor and this app. The only way the monitor will connect to the camera is if we take the battery out of it and put it back in. And then only works for a few hours. We fear that the monitor will disconnect from the camera middle of the night we won’t know if the baby is crying. The app is also useless. It actually sent us notifications but when we go to the app it can’t connect to the camera. We have strong Wi-Fi in our house and every other device we use on Wi-Fi works just fine. This system is terrible and I can’t recommend it to anybody. We would return it but we bought it before the baby was born in an effort to be ready and now we are outside the return window.

To help resolve the issue, we recommend power resetting both the camera and parent unit. Also, make sure to upgrade to latest firmware by over-the-air (OTA) updates for the camera and parent unit, and to download the latest version of our app.
