First business call!

I posted this on Facebook just now: Wow! I just got off the phone. I wanted to find out about a new product that Life Extension Foundation is offering. I hesitated because I wasn’t sure if it would work for a problem I am having right now, and when I attempted the chat, it immediately gave me a number to call. Meh. I hate making phone calls. I already have the Nagish app but I have used it only twice, in nice long conversations with my son, and the success of those two conversations was the only reason I was willing to ‘just give it a try’. The people at Life Extension are the nicest you will find on earth. Wow. Absolutely fabulous! It was so easy to talk with them, there was no reason to explain I was using a relay service, the captioning was done in real time, and once again LEF came through and said the product I inquired about was good, but there was one better and that product about half the price! Nagish and LEF both came together and gave me a wonderful day! And Nagish! My world has just popped open another dimension! I won’t be dreading phone calls ever again!

Amazing

If you are hard of hearing or deaf this app is amazing and works better then any app or other services I have ever used. I can not use a translator as I went deaf late in life and never learned to sign. My closed captioning phone is so delayed and still gets the captions wrong 40% of the time this app was 95% accurate only had trouble with music during wait times and was on time with automatic phone calls thank you to the creator of this it’s perfect.

Best text-based voice calling…now restricted

I’ve used a TTY and IP relay before. Nowadays I can’t stand being obligated to type GA, SK and other abbreviations. Nagish eliminates those with its full automation of text-based calling to voice phone numbers. Voicemail transcriptions are the most accurate I’ve ever experienced.

I mostly used Nagish for its text-to-speech functionality. Its synthetic voice spoke very clearly and did not sound robot-like at all. My callers loved having a more natural conversation directly with me. I often turned off the captions depending on how clearly I could hear my callers. When I was on hold, it was nice to be able to hear the hold music. I had used Nagish for ALL business voice calls, especially with businesses who wanted to be able to leave me voicemails.

Unfortunately, due to the completely neurological nature and mildness of my hearing condition, and FCC rules forbidding all but those with the most severe decibel hearing losses from using IP CTS, once Nagish became certified for IP CTS, I was forced to stop using Nagish completely.

Not FCC certified yet and apparently still asking for SSN numbers?

I downloaded the app and was going to start the process of setting up my account. But in a conversation with some other deaf friends of mine at the same time, we was curious about the FCC certification being granted (there’s histories with companies causing issues in the past). I was not able to find anything whatsoever on Nagish’s site. Looking it up on the FCC site, there was only a single notice of a period for public comments late last year. The friend tried to set it up and was asked to share their SSN (not sure if full or just the last four digits, they didn’t clarify). This is a HUGE YIKE! For an app that have not been certified yet as other vrs are required to get the past four digits of the ssn as part of the certification requirements afaik.

Developer Response ,

Hey there! We completely understand your concerns. We are asking for the last 4 digits of your SSN to ensure your are a real human, prevent fraud, and promise a flawless service for our users and the people they communicate with. That said, we never use your personal information for anything else. Nagish recently applied for FCC certification and it is pending the FCC’s review. 🤞

It was good in the beginning

I really liked this app in the beginning, people could hear me clearly and I could read what they are say, but it seems lately no one is able to hear me when I talk to them, it isn’t my phone because I’ve had my daughter make several regular calls from my phone and the people she called were able to have a conversation with her and hear her clearly, not being able to have a conversation with people calling or me calling them and using this app is a big disappointment as I am looking for employment.

A security risk. Possibly a scammer

So you take all of my information (name ,phone #, address, and last 4 of our social) upon registering account for the first time which ends with “sorry we can’t complete your registration .. contact support.. suspicious activity?” There’s no email or phone to contact tech support anywhere on the registration? Steer clear.. this app is new and you’ve been warned. What’s worse than data mining? Stay the heck away! It’s not what it looks like. I’m reporting this suspicious app to apple as we speak not sure how they missed out on this but same time Apple needs to step their game up when it comes for vetting these apps. This is unacceptable and clearly a scammers portal.

New Era of TTY

This is amazing!!! I haven’t hard time to listen and understand what my friends and family talk to me through my phone, and this is terrific news for me because I can understand what they say in text. If you prefer call in text messages, this is best for you. But this haven’t approve by FCC but I look forward for Nagish get approve. This is 10/10 for you, Good jobs and keep up!!

Everything great but the tone answer

Nagish is a fantastic app for managing incoming calls and messages. The call forwarding and voicemail features are especially helpful, allowing me to manage my calls effectively while on the go. However, I did have a problem with the tone answer feature on the answering machine not working properly. This is a minor annoyance, but I am hoping that the developers will address it in a future update. Overall, I strongly suggest Nagish as a dependable and efficient call management app.

Requires SSN?!

In a wild turn of events, this app requires not only your phone number (no option to use a new one as shown in the preview photos) and your email address (both fairly standard but would love the option to try the app before giving away all of my personal details, but your full name, home address and last four of your social security number to sign up?!? On what planet would I provide such sensitive details to use an application?! I can see the argument for home address in case of your needing EMS services (although it should just integrate with your OS in a perfect world), but my social? Absolutely not. Uninstalled in under 5min. Thanks for nothing.

Developer Response ,

Hey there! We are very sorry that you've had issues with signing up. Unfortunately, we are required to collect certain information for verification purposes and handling of emergency calls. We will never share your personal info, and we keep it secure by the highest standards.

Really impressed!

The UI design is really appealing and intuitive. The functionality is nothing short of a miracle! I can’t believe how accurate and fast it keeps up with the spoken words of the people I am calling. I’m excited to see where this goes from here because it’s a REALLY good app and I can see so many uses for this!

Just try it!!
