Description

Why Nagish?

■ People love it: “Nagish is the true definition of a game-changer. I often asked myself if there would ever be a phone call captioning app where the caller doesn't know I am deaf. This is where Nagish comes in! Their goal is to ensure the effectiveness and smoothness of communication, hence the name Nagish, which means 'accessible'!”

■ With Nagish, people who are deaf or hard of hearing can now engage in private conversations and access call transcripts using their existing phone numbers, eliminating the need for interpreters, deaf translators, stenographers, or captioning assistants, and it's completely free

■ Fast and Accurate: Nagish uses live transcribe technology to ensure live call captions. It keeps up with the flow of conversation, capturing every word with remarkable speed and accuracy without needing a deaf translator.

■ 100% Private: Your privacy is #1. The captions remain completely secure from end to end without involving humans in the process.

■ Easy to use: Nagish looks and feels like your native phone app, with the added benefit of real-time, private, and accurate call captions and call transcripts on all your phone calls.

■ Keep your existing phone number: Nagish allows you to retain your phone number for calls and texts, so you don't need to worry about changing your contact information.

■ Personal Dictionary: Nagish allows you to add custom words, phrases, or acronyms that you commonly use or may be unique to your conversations. This feature ensures that Nagish accurately transcribes calls and recognizes the language and terminology that matters most to you.

■ Transcribe Calls: Nagish enhances your communication experience by transcribing your calls and voicemails. Instead of struggling to understand unclear or missed messages, you can read the call transcripts at your convenience.

■ Quick Responses: If you are not using your voice to communicate, you can use Nagish with your device’s keyboard and choose from pre-set responses to commonly used phrases or questions, saving time and enabling efficient communication.

■ Save Your Transcripts: Nagish lets you save your conversations locally on your device for future reference (did we already say full privacy?) You can conveniently access and review your past call transcripts whenever needed.

■ Multilingual: Nagish helps bridge the language barrier by supporting multiple languages, including English, Spanish, French, Japanese, Hebrew, and Italian!

■ Built for and by the deaf and hard of hearing community: Nagish is driven by a mission to empower people who are deaf or hard of hearing. It's developed with insights from community members, ensuring that it addresses their unique needs. We strive to make communication accessible while sharing resources that foster inclusivity and immerse users in the deaf and hard-of-hearing culture.

■ Built-in Spam Filter: Nagish includes a robust spam filter that automatically identifies and filters out unwanted or unsolicited messages. Not enough? You can also block specific phone numbers.

■ Profanity Blocker: Nagish incorporates a profanity blocker to maintain a respectful and positive communication environment. It filters out offensive language, creating a more pleasant user experience.

■ Live Call Captions: Nagish Live instantly lets you caption conversations around you into written text. This new exciting feature is ideal for public events, class lectures, airports, noisy environments, and doctor’s appointments.

■ FCC Certified: Nagish is certified by the FCC to provide captioned telephone services in the United States. As a certified provider, Nagish will remain a free service. To qualify, you must self-attest your eligibility as an FCC requirement.

FEDERAL LAW PROHIBITS ANYONE BUT REGISTERED USERS WITH HEARING LOSS FROM USING INTERNET PROTOCOL (IP) CAPTIONED TELEPHONES WITH THE CAPTIONS TURNED ON. There is a cost for each minute of captions generated, paid from a federally administered fund.

First business call!

I posted this on Facebook just now: Wow! I just got off the phone. I wanted to find out about a new product that Life Extension Foundation is offering. I hesitated because I wasn’t sure if it would work for a problem I am having right now, and when I attempted the chat, it immediately gave me a number to call. Meh. I hate making phone calls. I already have the Nagish app but I have used it only twice, in nice long conversations with my son, and the success of those two conversations was the only reason I was willing to ‘just give it a try’. The people at Life Extension are the nicest you will find on earth. Wow. Absolutely fabulous! It was so easy to talk with them, there was no reason to explain I was using a relay service, the captioning was done in real time, and once again LEF came through and said the product I inquired about was good, but there was one better and that product about half the price! Nagish and LEF both came together and gave me a wonderful day! And Nagish! My world has just popped open another dimension! I won’t be dreading phone calls ever again!

Amazing

If you are hard of hearing or deaf this app is amazing and works better then any app or other services I have ever used. I can not use a translator as I went deaf late in life and never learned to sign. My closed captioning phone is so delayed and still gets the captions wrong 40% of the time this app was 95% accurate only had trouble with music during wait times and was on time with automatic phone calls thank you to the creator of this it’s perfect.

Best text-based voice calling…now restricted

I’ve used a TTY and IP relay before. Nowadays I can’t stand being obligated to type GA, SK and other abbreviations. Nagish eliminates those with its full automation of text-based calling to voice phone numbers. Voicemail transcriptions are the most accurate I’ve ever experienced.

I mostly used Nagish for its text-to-speech functionality. Its synthetic voice spoke very clearly and did not sound robot-like at all. My callers loved having a more natural conversation directly with me. I often turned off the captions depending on how clearly I could hear my callers. When I was on hold, it was nice to be able to hear the hold music. I had used Nagish for ALL business voice calls, especially with businesses who wanted to be able to leave me voicemails.

Unfortunately, due to the completely neurological nature and mildness of my hearing condition, and FCC rules forbidding all but those with the most severe decibel hearing losses from using IP CTS, once Nagish became certified for IP CTS, I was forced to stop using Nagish completely.
