Not bad, not one of the better Nancy Drew games

I played my first ND game, Silent Spy, a while back and was totally hooked, so I’ve been trying others. This one does not compare, but it’s not too bad. It’s one of the older games, so it wasn’t well adapted for Mac, which almost makes it a deal-breaker for me because maneuvering through some of the puzzles is so cumbersome. The later games are much better written, so if you’re just looking to try ND I’d definitely go for Silent Spy or Sea of Darkness. Labyrinth of Lies was also pretty good.

This game’s puzzles don’t really advance the game, you do the same couple of puzzles over and over again for no real reason, the storyline isn’t very interesting and there’s really just no good mystery here. It wasn’t bad, I just didn’t find this particular ND game very engaging. Although they’re good in general, Shadow is definitely not worth the very high price Apple charges.

Not bad, but not good enough for a 5 star.

This game is not bad, but it’s not enough for a 5 star in my opinion. I will go back time after time to play this game, but I’m not addicted to it. It’s scary enough for those who like scary Nancy Drew games, but I wish they had the beginning games for Mac (that’s the one reason I miss having a PC). However, there are a lot of puzzles and some are challenging, but for my opnion, it wasn’t addictive enough for me.

My money

After several Nancy Drew games I have come to the conclusion that I am wasting my money on Nancy Drew games that I am unable to progress through because I am unable to solve a puzzle. I appreciate the challenge but without having the ability to skip a, for me, difficult puzzle is simply just a waste of my money. I play the game for entertainmnet. I have enough tension in life without paying to have more. I finally overcame the constant, at times meaningless, phone calls only to run into a puzzle that I am unable to complete. Outside of that they are very interesting and entertaining games. So as Nancy would say BYE.
