Story was a lame but puzzles and interface are fun
Fairly enjoyable but falls short when compared to similar games I have played in the past. Worth buying if you like puzzles, but exploring is limited. Artwork and music is pleasant. Puzzles that required figuring out and memorizing multiple steps in a limited time seemed unnecessarily difficult so glad there was a walkthrough available. Non timed puzzles were interesting and challenging.
Puzzles too hard for adults!
I like talking to people and exploring new places in the game, but the puzzles were way too complicated and… hard! I can’t even get through half of the game. I had to cheat on the very first puzzle (breaker switch, bagpipes, safe room fireplace, and don’t get me started on Scottish Tartans!). I don’t want to work THAT hard in a computer game. I wanted something that flowed nicely, the plot moved quickly, and generally relax after work. I thought this was a kid’s game (ie. Nancy Drew). This was not the one for me unfortunately! All the brain teasers just stressed me out, haha. Lovely graphics though!
As Amazing as Ever
I loved the Nancy Drew series on CD-ROM, and was incredibly excited to see the familiar games on the app store. The games available on the app store are even better than the CD-ROM versions. The puzzles are more complex, the graphics are stunning, and the music is still as suspenseful as ever.
This game in particular is more exciting, as Nancy Drew uncovers secrets about her own family history. 100% worth the money, 10/10 would recommend.
