Mostly Good

The game is mostly good, few errors/inconveniences here and there. First, it’s sort of irritating to always start from the back. Win some races, then start at the back all the time. If I could, I’d make it so your average finish is the starting spot. Second, whenever I collect money, it comes up like “$40”. When I collect my gold token, it comes up like “1~???????”. It’s very strange, and has been there for a while now. Third, it’s the cars. Many things, in fact. You cannot change your car number, just 99. The second car-related issue is that, sometimes when I get in a crazy wreck, the camera freaks out. But not that big of an issue, because it’s funny to watch, and big, crazy wrecks don’t happen often. The third car-related issue is with all of the official NASCAR games. They always include cars not in the Cup Series, like how Todd Gilliland is in the game. It sometimes is annoying. The final issue is with most mobile games. At one point, you would need 2-4 more stars to get to the next race, in typical mobile-game fashion. Then suddenly, you need 5-9 more stars… in typical mobile-game fashion. It really irritates me when I do it. The rest of the game is fine.

Difficult but that’s not the problem!

First off, the game is difficult without spending actual money but that has zero to do with me taking stars away, my problem with it is after every single race the screen goes black like an ad is about to pop up or something but it never does. I have to completely close out the game and re open it every single race. Also, it’s already annoying enough that you only get 5 “energy” type things required to race, but add in the impossible challenges that conflict each other (10 low passes & 10 high passes in a 3 lap race that you 99% of the time have the slowest car in the race) and it becomes almost impossible. You could at least reward us with an extra energy if we do manage to complete all the task. Instead we get 250 cash most races yet it cost 10k to even get parts after having to upgrade 2 zones at 5k each, but then you actually have to pay 1250+ for the part, and THEN after all that have to wait 15 minutes for it to install. Geeze, it’s almost like you don’t want people playing because by the time you start the game up and race a few times it’s over until hours later and by then we’ve moved on. Sorry for the rant, this is the first time I’ve ever left a negative review on any game ever so I just wanted to make it clear exactly why I’m giving it a low rating so that I don’t look like a hater

Fun to play, very unrealistic

The game has a lot of potential, but the challenges are so unrealistic and impossible that it kills game play. I’m not really even a NASCAR fan anymore, but I know you only really draft at big tracks like Talladega and Daytona, but to get all three stars in a race they ask you to draft for 10,000 consecutive feet at a shorter track like Richmond while somehow passing 15 cars. You’ll spend three laps to somehow, miraculously, complete the draft challenge and then realize it’s the last lap and you’re still sitting in 35th place. I’m pretty confident the developers have never seen a single race in their life.

You can upgrade your car to help make some of the passing challenges more doable, but it gets expensive having to upgrade the research and development and garage every single time you want to upgrade. The alternative is to use another drivers car, but you only get so much gold to use. Plus, when you use another car it’s unrealistically fast. You can easily go from 37th to 1st in just a couple laps while the other cars look sitting ducks.

The game is fun to play, and it’s a great time-waster during quarantine, but the better alternative would be dust off the old ps2/3 and play those old games. If this game cost $15-$20 and actually resembled the old NASCAR Thunder games and such, I could see the gameplay being fun for diehards.
