Cornell AppDev is an engineering project team at Cornell University dedicated to designing and developing mobile applications. We were founded in 2014 and have since released apps for Cornell and beyond, from Eatery and CourseGrab to newer apps like Resell and Score. Our goal is to produce apps that benefit the Cornell community and the local Ithaca area as well as promote open-source development with the community. We have a diverse team of software engineers and product designers that collaborate to create apps from an idea to a reality. Cornell AppDev also aims to foster innovation and learning through training courses, campus initiatives, and collaborative research and development. I love this app! Helps me see all the routes from point A to B, so I can choose. It tells me if the bus is late which is awesome! The adjustable tome of departure or arrival means I can plan for up to a week ahead. Two things: The app skips to the next arriving bus too soon. So if I’m at the bus stop at 9:43 and the bus should be departing now, but is a minute late and the app hasn’t figured that out, it shows me the next bus instead. And a few times the app just hasn’t been in communication with the bus so the time was off. Overall, still my favorite transit app for my town
Useless

This is not the app I was looking for. I wanted something that would show me bus routes and where the bus is on the route. That’s not what this app does. So I tried to use it as intended and still found it to be worthless. I was standing at the TCAT 82 bus stop at East Hill Plaza wanting to ride to Statler Hall. First it told me to walk all the way up to CISER to pick up the bus even though I was already standing at the 82 stop. Then it told me to get off at Humphreys Service Building and walk the rest of the way even though the 82 bus stops directly in front of Statler Hall. I’m glad I was already familiar with the route and just wanted to know when the next bus was coming or I would have done a lot of walking for nothing. I’m deleting this app just as fast as I downloaded it.
Great App

Looks like you guys fixed my main concern with the app. 5 stars. Great job. This app could be a major improvement to the dumpster fire over at mystopmobile, and I appreciate what you guys are doing. Already the app feels more fluid and is more aesthetically appealing. I love the feature which tells you if the bus is on time. However, if you really want to make a good bus app you need to include an interactive map where you can “find your location” and see the bus stops closest to you on the map. This would make it so much easier to plan routes and quickly find bus stops even if you have no idea where you are. The map should also include visualizations of bus routes that you select. If you make these changes this app could be excellent.
Developer Response
We're glad you enjoy the app! Thank you so much for your ideas and feedback. We plan on doing user testing and research to find out how we can improve and redesign the app.You can update your rating and review if you like. We always appreciate ratings and reviews that reflect the current features and functionality of the app!
Useful real-time info

This app really exceeds anything available from TCAT, and is more usable just in time to check if a bus will be departing soon near you to a specific destination like Cornell or the Commons (from a variety of stops). Thanks so much for making this available - it was sorely needed.
