I’ve been watching / using NBC News for years. regular daily multiple times use of the app throughout the day. I find that the addition of ads throughout the app makes scrolling through a specific news article a major source of frustration. I will scroll down as I read and all of a sudden, the article will jump back to the top. I’ll scroll down. All of a sudden the app will jimp back to the top. My frustration is reaching a peak. I am likely to delete this app and switch to another news source if my frustrations continue.

The app has been totally revamped following the MSNBC spinoff. Now, instead of being able to watch segments or entire episodes of meet the Press and the evening news, the only thing one can watch without a subscription. Is NBC News now. Even this might be OK if the schedule was provided. But it is not. Note to the app designers: you may want to check out the CBS News app. They provide a schedule of the live broadcasts they will be showing. Also provide viewers with more options about what to watch.

I used to love this app. Every time it updates it gets worse. Now it’s impossible to watch the today show and nbc nightly news (as examples) without being a subscriber. You can watch it live…sort of. Over the weekends, for example, the only thing that hey have playing on “live” is a marathon of Dateline reruns. Where is the today show? Where is nbc nightly news? Any news? I already subscribe to peacock. Now I have to subscribe to nbc news too? If I now have to pay just to see basic programming, I’ll switch to other apps.

Look guys, I don't mind change. The world needs to innovate. But this new format update is an enormous stumble backwards. Whereas before I could easily select the category of news I was looking for by clicking the peacock, the current incarnation of this app has absolutely no coherent organization. "World," "US news," and "entertainment" are perfectly good categories for news, and made NBC my go-to news app. But now? How am I supposed to find the story I'm looking for in such universal categories as "investigations" and "Latino?" Not that it matters anyway, because the app can never stay open for more than 5 seconds (I wish I was exaggerating that number) without freezing and crashing, at which point I have to restart until I give up and just go online. Putting the focus on large graphics and photos is fine, but you completely destroyed all the app's original usefulness and functionality. If you had simply moved or redesigned the useful features, I would have no problem with an update. As I said, I know business models have to evolve. But you guys removed them entirely. In addition, there is absolutely no good reason why this app should still have such terrible freezing and crashing problems. Come on guys, this should have been fixed within the first week or so of launch. NBC, you guys are smart. You make quality products and generally report good news. There is no reason why your app can't be both good-looking and functional.

I'm from Seattle and I don't like the trashy flashy look. It's like the app is embarrassed that it is about news and tries to appear more "fun". Also there are WAY too many ads everywhere! You see a single line of news teaser, then an ad strip. Then a news teaser, then an ad strip. And so on. Once you make your selection (of news) it shows a few lines of news, then you can guess it, a huge big folder pops up covering half of your viewing space -an ad! Also if you select all news, up pops Wedding! Then Lohan! Then America's got whatever! You have to go down and down and down to find National, International news. Like I said, it hides the real news as if it's embarrassed about it. Other news apps usually line up All News as National, International, Business, Local, Weather, and THEN entertainment! I despise this app for this reason. What's wrong with you MSNBC? You are a NEWS app!!!!! Sigh. But otherwise, it does deliver ALL the news, fit or not. And it gives timely notifications, if not the story for awhile. It's a good general overview tricked out to appear more like People Magazine with, oops, so sorry, we have to put a little story here about the President or Congress or China. Sorry about that.........

Dear NBC News App,You sent out an alert at 3 AM (woke me up) to let everyone know about some silly poll that showed "the majority" (55%) of Americans think Hilary Clinton can relate to the average person! Ok, now if you want to do a story on that, fine! But sending out a special alert in the middle of the night just to make sure we all know who your biased news agency wants us to vote for in 2016 is rediculous! You're supposed to be an unbiased news agency but if this poll showed the majority of people did NOT agree she could relate to the average American, you likely wouldn't have even done a story and there is no way on earth you'd have sent out a special alert! Funny... I never got an alert related to the major hearings on the IRS scandal last week when it was revealed they intentionally destroyed Lois Learner's emails which makes Obama look bad but I got one about this silly poll that makes Hillary kind of look good? Why no alert about the poll that showed 66% of the people, including a majority of democrats, believe the IRS intentionally destroyed the emails?!?SORRY... Although my grandfather retired as the VP of Broadcast Operations at NBC in Burbank 22 years ago after a 34 year career with your once great company, I must delete this App out of principal. If you did "fair and balanced" news, your ratings would go up but you guys are currently a joke! Oh... And the app itself stinks for all kinds of other reasons!
