Neat: Receipt Tracker 4+

This is an excellent program to store receipts, in fact any document, on the cloud called a neat Cloud.

An accounting program it is not. At one time, they featured a version called Neat Books but in fact it is almost impossible to balance the Balance Sheet for a company using this program.

The program works like QuickBooks on the web but in a reverse. QucikBooks is an accounting program and allows you to attach receipts to the income and expenses recorded. Not works the opposite: a great depository for receipts and then allows one to align a receipt to a downloaded income (from your bank) or expense (e.g.; from credit cards). Payments from one to the other are called transfers.

However, the Balance Sheet Report o rarely in balance and it is not clear that the program has the functionality to make it balance. In QUickBooks, the balance sheet by definition will balance or you cannot place the entry into the Books.

As best I can tell, Neat no longer promotes the app as one that is for accounting, except the title on this App.

I am a long-time Neat user, starting with the original NeatReceipts portable scanner years ago. I used the Neat Desktop scanner for years and was reasonably happy with that as well. Currently I am using a high-end Fujitsu scanner with the Neat desktop software. And it works great!

I am currently on a 5-week road trip and would ordinarily bring home tons of receipts to scan once I returned. But now - with the improved Neat mobile app - I simply photograph the receipt and rapidly file it away. No receipts to scan once I get home. And it works great on both my iPhone 13 Pro and my iPad Pro.

I have used NEAT for years, but just discovered the Mobile app. My eyes are wide-open to the new possibilities for not only business purposes, but also archiving non-business documents (i.e. - notes scribbled on papers that I keep in a huge pile on my desk- gone!).

I was lamenting another product that did these same things, but was only available for PC. I use MAC. Little did I know that I already had THE solution on my computer for both PC and MAC!

Get NEAT and the NEAT mobile app today if you need to really “get it together”. It’s amazing!!!
