After downloading the nectar app, I have at least one very awesome reason that I enjoy the app: it’s free. When I say free, I mean, nowhere in the app is it trying to get me to sign up for some bs subscription to access information hidden behind a paywall like all the other “top” dating apps do. I’m not the most unattractive dude, so I’m fortunate to have had a few people like my profile (hopefully they’re not bots), and instead of both of us having to like one another to see each others profiles, I can see exactly who liked my profile. nectar is doing the one thing dating apps should be doing: connecting people and not enslaving customers via subscriptions. I’m sure there are more good things about the app, I just needed to drop my 2¢ about the lack of trying to get money out of me for something as simple as connecting people. Seriously, thank you… and please don’t sell my data 😅Edit: apparently you can only send 7 likes per day, which is ridiculous. At least nectar is not trying to me to pay for the ability to like more people, but still… the limit on likes should only be implemented on people spam liking every single person’s profile.

The app gives you a personality test and rank your compatibility with other others. Instead of just ranking people on their prompts and their looks, this app gives a much deeper insight to how compatible you could be. More people need to switch to this app

even though this is supposed to be a dating app the app will show you anyone that is the gender you set the app to see, even if they are not compatible with you sexuality wise. for example, i am a queer woman, i date women and non binary people so i have the app set to only show me women and non binary people. i mostly only see women (which is fine) but about 70% of them either have elected not to show their sexuality OR are just straight! i, a woman, can’t date a straight woman. if i didn’t already see that some of the people the app is showing me were non compatible, i wouldn’t really be worried about the other people who chose not to show their sexuality, however since there is no way to know if they are straight or not i just have to guess. i assume this is because there aren’t many queer people on the app so it just shows me everyone. i would much rather be able to actually use the app as intended or be able to toggle in and out of “friendship mode” where i can choose to see anyone. for transparency sake, i did also look to see if this is just a paid feature (that i don’t have cause im never gonna pay for a dating app) but it’s not. there is no way to make sure you are only seeing people you are compatible with romantically/sexually.

I’m sure during the jubilee shareholder meeting people got all giddy, but the fact that Jubilee had the audacity to introduce a paid subscription despite all the app’s current bugs and flaws baffles me. No Jubilee, you’re not going to become the next Tinder—at least not in your current state.Once they fix bugs like repeating profiles, ghost likes, and the subpar glitchy UI, MAYBE I’ll consider giving them a dime or two for their app.Also, if you’re going to charge for an unpolished experience, I’d also rather you make it a one-time payment model where it’s 5.99$ or something.
