I've never been so excited about a new search engine. Hate Google as much as I do, the fact remains that it's the best search engine out there. Even the best alternatives, in my experience, can leave me wanting for the right results. Neeva hasn't let me down yet (and I'd consider myself a heavy user).

Regarding permissions/privacy, I'm not concerned at this point. Permission balance is tricky when third parties have to rely on access levels predetermined by the operating system. That is, you almost always give far more permission than the developer will ever use or want to use and it's only because the operating system developer bundled access the way they did that the app developers even need to ask for certain levels in the first place. Bottom line, if we're going to be online, we are going to be at risk. No entity in history has given us more reasons to distrust them than Google, et. al. I trusted Google way back in the original beta and they ultimately let me down. I'll trust Neeva until I see a strong reason not to anymore.

It works!

Really enjoying not allowing google to scrape my internet DNA while searching. Now If I could just peel myself away from gmail D:

Love the idea, and will give it a try

It is hard to trust a new company, and when they implement such a strong integration, that scaries, even when they say "we will not sell your information".
In my case I just wanted to try Neeva as a default search engine for the Safari, but the only option is to install their Extension, that requires full access to every page you visit (meaning they can read credit cards, passwords, usernames, etc).

We include this permission so we can support saving a website to a Space, Neeva's version of dynamic bookmarks, from the extension. Unless you choose to save an item to a Space on Neeva, we never store any information about your browsing. You can see our privacy policy for details on how we handle your personal information.

Thanks for the feedback and we'll be sure to make this clearer!
