In partnership with local government and law enforcement Alertizen modernizes and revitalizes a city's block watch / neighborhood watch program so that every citizen can participate, be engaged, get out of harm's way and become the eyes and ears of the police in real time.
Alertizen’s Mission is to keep people safe and out of harm’s way and to create Engaged and Vigilant Neighborhoods to assist the Police Department.
Informed citizens make for safer neighborhoods: Before Alertizen, neighbors found out about the break-ins, burglaries and other crimes happening in their neighborhood weeks after the incident at the monthly Block watch meeting. With Alertizen, members are notified of a possible crime occurring within minutes of the 9-1-1 call.
Partnership with your police department: Modern police departments want their citizens actively involved through community engagement. Budget constraints have limited police resources so more and more people are urged to be aware of what's happening around them and report criminal activity to police.
Technology makes it simple: Everyone is busier than ever, and the traditional front porch neighborhood watch is difficult. But almost everyone has a cell phone and Alertizen is the perfect answer to keeping you informed on what is happening in your neighborhood.
Empower an entire neighborhood: Alertizen puts criminals on notice that the entire neighborhood is aware of their presence. Criminals may be dumb, but they know better than to "work" in an area where every citizen is an Alertizen.
Three Easy Steps to Become an Alertizen:
1. Sign Up - Members can download our apps and signup.
2. Select Monitoring Area - Once registered, you can enter from 1 to 3 monitoring area such as your home, your parents’ home, your work address. And with our app you can also monitor while you're moving around to keep you out of harms-way.
3. Stay Alert - Now you're an official Alertizen (an alert citizen)! You can adjust your settings anytime. While we urge you to stay alert, please never, ever try to foil or confront criminal activity. That's what police are for. Get to safety and become the eyes and ears of police.
Ratings and ReviewsSee All
I downloaded this app cause I stopped getting my normal alerts through my email and I seen the ratings were low but I still wanted to give the app a try cause the area I live in it pays highly to know what’s going on... well the second I opened it the app was lagging and freezing up but I figured i would give it some time , well here I am a few weeks later and I am really unhappy with the service and the freezing and lagging... I use to get alerts very often in email but looks like the app only updates one or three alerts a day .... and the original alert zone I had set up was a bigger range then the app allows. I’m very disappointed and am gonna be searching for a new source to monitor my crap neighborhood , if new updates and bugs are fixed and a better rating comes along I may reconsider. TAKE YOUR TIME to cover all the fine lines when making an app.
The app is clunky and difficult to navigate just to see information I used to be able to see at a glance in text message banner notifications on my phone. I do not want to be forced to open the app and dig around every time there is an alert trying to find where and what the alert was. Plus with text alerts you could easily go to google maps, not with this app. A big no from me.
Deleting this app
I used to get alerts thru text and I loved it. With this app I wasn’t even getting alerts at all. So pointless for me without the alerts because I’m not opening app over and over again through out the day to then hint thru the app to see if any alerts had happened.
