I was expecting the app to simply read from the standard works different stories, select chapters and verses in an ASMR style. The app does NOT offer direct readings and instead offers summarized stories from the Book of Mormon through the PoGP. The mood effects to drape into the background of the stories (rain, waves, nature etc.) are a fantastic touch. My only complaints are a lack of a search function and lack of a coherent organization in the UI. You can’t select what book, anthology, chapter you’d like stories from. I would also LOVE an addition of select readings directly from the scriptures. Hopefully this feedback can get implemented soon as I have an annual subscription.

I was excited to see this and was intrigued with the concept. I also was under the impression there would be more stories so I purchased the year subscription. Right now there’s only 15 stories, that will last me one week, not even close to a year. I hope more stories are added quickly! It has a little bit of an AI feel to it which I don’t like. I would prefer stories with more “meat”, these seem kind of “fluffy” so far. Adding in scriptures, and quotes, etc, would make it more enjoyable for me. I would to like to hear the names of the characters in the Book of Mormon pronounced correctly. I also would prefer the option of several voices. The stories should play continuously but they don’t. I love the idea of playing calming sounds in the background. App is laid out nicely. Again, the concept is great, but it’s clearly at the beginning stages and needs more execution.

I too was pretty excited to hear about the app. I currently use the app “headspace”. It’s great. It allows for a free trial, and has “sleep casts” where they have really soothing voices, they guide you through a breathing exercise, and then go through a themed story. My favorite is the laundromat, or the Star Wars episodes. To the creators of the nephicalm app, I applaud you for coming up with this really cool concept. I just think it was very poorly executed. I’m hoping that you do end up offering a trial period. It’d also be cool if you had stories not just from the Book of Mormon, but also from the Bible. Stories like Moses, Noah, Adam and Eve (with respect) and even Christ’s teachings. You might as well have a sleep cast for every book. Then you can have your bases covered. Maybe even watch the old Book of Mormon cartoons from the 90s for inspiration.

I love the concept—absolutely love it. The Gospel Library app’s audio isn’t great; it’s robotic and not very smooth. Meanwhile NephiCalm’s voice is soft and smooth. My reason for ⭐️⭐️⭐️ is it sounds like NephiCalm just plugged into AI and are reselling it without refining it. For example, in Lehi’s dream, the pronunciation of Lehi is incorrect as well as most if not all names, and while it’s a small thing, it bothers me. That detail could affect whether I decide to renew or not. I hope they continue to add more stories as of right now there’s about 15. This app has some serious and I mean serious POTENTIAL!I hope this app will also read the scriptures word for word. As of right now it’s just stories. I will definitely upgrade my review if the app is refined. Btw I LOVE how you can add background music!!
