I love that I am finally able to watch NESN streams on my iPhone or iPad (a huge thank you for supporting Picture-in-Picture on iPad), but this app isn’t supported very well and is in dire need of some updates. The iPhone X was announced 6 months ago and the app still doesn’t support the new screen size and the video is letterboxed on all 4 sides (not just on the left and right) causing the image to be unnecessarily small. There’s also some software bugs that need to be addressed (PiP on iOS 11 pauses the game when you go into PiP mode and you need to manually resume the game).
There’s also an issue where the app doesn’t save my TV Provider’s (Comcast Xfinity) login status for more than 5-7 days or so, which causes me to have to re-login almost every time I use the app. The app’s browser for authenticating also doesn’t save cookies which means even if you select “Remember Me” on your TV Provider’s website you’ll still need to fully login each time.
Guys, don’t worry they updated the app. It now has a fancy NESN go title that pops up and an ad. Good fix to the solution.....
This app is despicable and the app developer should find a new career. I have to sign in every time I open the app and if I’m watching the game and it freezes....I have to sign in again. The games play on a screen size about half of what is available on my phone and my wife’s. NESN, do us a favor and spend money on your app and it’s content rather than your mind numbing morning sports show. Hopefully you guys will he bought out by a company that wants to bring you to the year 2018. AWFUL.
iPhone X: use the whole screen please
1)Please use the whole edge to edge display on the iPhone X!!!
That’s why we got this phone and it’s frustrating that after these few months there are still tons of apps not utilizing the screen properly especially for watching video
2)Please fix directv login issues. They are currently not working.
This app is awesome. It was nice to be able to watch the Sox on the go and even better for me at least to be able to watch the Bruins as well. There is hardly any if at all buffering when the video kicks in and I haven’t had any issues with streamIng on either WiFi or LTE ever. The app is near flawless aside from the few issues above. Again, aside from the small viewing screen being used currently on the iPhone X, the picture quality is absolutely amazing on the X. Lastly, with all the crazy viewing restrictions trying to watch sports on the go or on mobile in general it’s absolutely amazing to be able to watch the Bruins or Sox on the go and even more appreciative to be able to use our existing paid cable subscription to do so. Thank you so much!
