With Net Nanny’s amazing new Family Feed, you’ll see:
• Instant reporting of Internet searches
• Updates on apps used
• Instant alerts that your child may have viewed Pornography, Drugs, Weapons, Suicide or other inappropriate content
Ever wonder how much time your kids use their device? Net Nanny® lets parents see the daily total of each child’s screen time. Net Nanny® also gives parents the ability to adjust screen time limits and allowances instantly.
Do you ever argue with your child when it’s time for dinner or when they have had too much screen time? From your phone, Net Nanny® enables you to turn off the Internet instantly so you can get their attention and limit screen time.
Ever worry where your child is? With Net Nanny®, you can view each child’s location with a Family Map.
Imagine the peace of mind if you had a parental control app that could...
• Give you a list of apps your child has used
• Act as an app blocker when you need it to
• Act as a porn blocker and block other bad content like violence with the best internet filter!
With Net Nanny®, you can be sure you have the best protection available to shield your kids from online dangers.
Not all filters are created equal. Unlike most filters that block entire sites, the award-winning Net Nanny® filtering technology looks at individual web page content and determines in real time if it is safe for your child. You’ll have complete control over the settings that will guide the monitoring, and appropriate filtering, of your kids’ devices.
Whenever Net Nanny® determines there might be an unsafe situation for your child – such as accessing dangerous app or web content – you will be notified immediately.
Net Nanny® allows parents to know, and then allow or block, the apps their child has downloaded on their device.
With Net Nanny® you can enhance child safety with family locator. You can see where your child has been via family search GPS tracking by mapping their location history, and if your child loses their device, you can trace its most recent locations.

Annoying but serves a purpose
So I got this for my 12 yo hoping to identify if he was searching for things that were inappropriate. I already have family share on my IOS so he can’t put an app on without my approval and we have set times he can use it so scheduling was not an issue but I was worried about his internet searches. This was advertised as something that runs quietly in the background and can either alert a parent or block questionable items.
Set up was fairly easy. My major complaints are the fact it randomly kicks him off of the internet until he goes through and taps an “click here to turn on z- app”. It’s very annoying and a constant reminder I’m “watching” him. The biggest issue is that when it sends you an alert about inappropriate search it won’t pull it up when I click on it to see what he is looking for. It just sends me to some coding page or it says internal failure. How am I supposed to talk to him about what he’s looking at if I can’t see what he’s looking at and there is no description!! It just says inappropriate content viewed. That could be a million things.. Lastly, it does drain the battery very quickly and it would be a lot easier
To set time limits if you used actual time and not minutes or at least have that as an option. As in stop internet at 7:00 instead of add 7 hours.. Don’t get me wrong, I get everyone parents differently and these options may work for some families, unfortunately I don’t think it will work.

The child app is designed to run in the background. Is it possible that your son is swiping it away? When you open Zift, the Family Feed will show all the child’s searches and includes the actual terms that were typed in. Blocking web content is part of Zift Premium and the messages referenced are Alerts telling you about inappropriate content being accessed, including the URL where the content was found. Please let us know how to contact you at email@example.com.
Bocks apps if not in background
Generally NetNanny version 10 is very good at blocking & filtering content. Better integration than the old version 7. MUCH welcome parent app, which was missing from old version 7.
BUT... certain apps cannot work in background. Life360 is a great location app we us in our family. It was working great (running in background, even when closed) but if the child closes their Net Nanny app (typical behavior to close all apps) then other apps won’t have internet transaction as expected.
Quote from customer service, “ Net Nanny doesn’t have the ability to just automatically run in the background. The Net Nanny Child app must be manually opened and running in the background.
With the way that Net Nanny works, it applies to the internet as a whole. If Net Nanny is not open it will not allow any app to access the internet. Unfortunately, we cannot whitelist specific apps so that they are not affected by Net Nanny.”
If other apps can work in the background, why not NN? Alternatively would like to see option to allow/select apps to work, especially when the app doesn’t have built in web browser.
Thanks for the improvements, but missing key accessibility in background.
This app is awful. My parents got it for me to make sure I wasn’t on any inappropriate websites. However, it rendered my phone almost useless. It took ages for anything to load on my phone. I couldn’t send attachments over text, even just pictures. I would always have so much trouble searching things on safari. My snaps would never send either. In addition, it constantly gave me notifications that I had stopped the app when I didn’t, the app was still open and I hadn’t done anything to alter the settings. I then had to go into the app and wait for it to reset. It was extremely embarrassing for me, having to go into the app in front of my friends. It also blocked me from websites that were nowhere near inappropriate. It once blocked me from a tutorial on LED lights. I was constantly going to my mom, asking her to fix the settings because at least twice a week, it would render my data completely useless and I couldn’t do anything. Both she and I would get so frustrated trying to fix it. One of the worst things was that it drained my battery. I don’t use my phone that much, maybe an hour and a half during the school day, and my phone would be dead by the end of the day. I wasn’t able to communicate with my parents since my phone was dead. This app is a complete invasion of privacy and takes away all trust. It was an inconvenience for all parties involved.
