Net Radar monitors the status of your VPN connection and shows the current geographical location of the public IP address of your Internet connection in the menu bar. Net Radar will warn you immediately when your connection is no longer private.

• Runs in the menu bar, showing the current geographical location of your Internet connection.
• The color of the displayed location indicates the status of your VPN connection.
• Option to show external IP address, city or country name in the menu bar.
• Clicking on the menu bar item will display an information popup.
• The popup shows your external IP address, the location of that address on a map and the status of your VPN connection.
• Can be automatically launched at startup of your Mac.
• Works with all types of remote VPN connections.
• Checks your VPN connection internally and externally.
• The type of warning can be configured to be a simple notification, a modal dialog, or as a popup.
• Does not interfere with your Internet connection or VPN setup.
• Includes a Setup Assistant that leads you through a few simple steps to set up Net Radar.
• Can also be used to just monitor the location of your public IP address, without VPN verifications.

It works ... but ...

I was about to give the developer of this software 5-stars but I found a major flaw in the app. This app is really an awesome one with a great interface that I love! But it does not dynamically change the location everytime the location of the VPN changes! You will have to quit the app and then start it again in order for it to recognize your new location. Developer, can you please have that flaw fixed as soon as possible? Thanks to you in advance!

Developer Response ,

Changing the VPN connection should automatically update the location in Net Radar. Please contact with more details (VPN app you use) to investigate why this doesn't work in your situation. As a workaround you can also set an automatic refresh interval in the Preferences of Net Radar.

it works!

Does the job - monitors both your native and VPN IP addresses– and looks good on the menubar

(It didn't launch when I first tried to install the app. After restarting, i discovered the problem may have been my own impatience.)

Recommeded, thanks!

Does what it says

Great app, that does what it says. I would like to see the option to customize the menu bar display to allow only the icon instead of requiring the icon plus the city.

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your review. I will add your suggestion to the backlog.
