Be Realistic

As a paranoid first time mom I had really enjoyed our experience with owlet for the smart sock 1 and smart sock 2 (which we purchased once we could afford to upgrade). Our sons readings were always consistent to his vitals when at the doctor and even the one visit we had early in infancy to the ER. Much so that we had been acknowledged by those medical professionals to use our owlet as another great “safe-guard” in place. It was a no brainer to purchase the owlet cam when it came to market. Like all new products there will be road bumps. I have no doubt, especially with how quick responding the owlet care team is- that they will work out the kinks. They are entirely invested in their products and you can tell by the quality and experiences of those who have used the socks. It may take time, and therefore they have a 45 day guarantee if you are still not satisfied. Personally, I would graciously accept more than a weeks time for bug fixes considering the haul of interest people had in this product and how quickly they were made available to purchase. Yes, much like many, I will look forward to my camera not lagging, among with the other minor errors, but I’ll continue to be realistic and give it time. Therefore I will continue to recommend the camera to others but remind them to be realistic too.

One disappointed mama ,

Great concept if only it would work!

First i just want to point out that i am up at 2:30 in the morning writing this review because ive been up for the past hour trying everything i could to get the app to work.
With that being said, this is nothing new. I have both the camera & the sock i love them when they actually work! Unfortunately its not often that they do. My son is almost 3 months old & we have been using this crazy expensive monitor (that doesn’t work over half the time)since the day we brought him home! It takes forever to it to cut on in the first place & when it finally does its unreliable due to the fact that it cuts in & out so often especially the audio (the most important function of a baby monitor.) & the sock has been a even worse experience! I put the sock on every night being optimistic & hopeful that it would actually work that night! Even though 95% of the time it doesn’t. It stays stuck on “searching for base station” or “connecting” but never actually does. Ive tried everything to get it to work: un plugging & plugging back in, reconnecting, turning off & on the wifi, closing out the app & reopening it, uninstalling the app & re installing it. & it gets me nothing.
Overall this product was a real let down.. (especially for the price) I really wanted it to work i loved the idea & i had high hopes but im giving up & going to spend even more money for a new monitor that is more reliable..

Great sock, horrible camera

To start off, the sock is excellent. It has truly brought us a piece of mind and the nights we don’t use it for whatever reason, we don’t sleep as well. It’s very comforting seeing her heart rate and oxygen and knowing she’s safe. We got the camera to go along with the sock as one system.

The camera and the app are horrible. I read bad reviews about poor connectivity before getting it, but it was a present so we decided to try it out. It started out fine but about a month later, I rarely get the video to pull up on our devices. Instead it was just keeps loading. My wife and I have to try on 3 different devices (my phone, her phone, and our iPad) to get it to work. We never know which device will work each night. It gets very, very tiring having to trouble shoot the camera issues every day. Iv worked through the troubleshooting steps more times than I can count. Also the sound on the camera is really bad it picks up background noise too much so we hear her sound machine more than we hear her cry. Lastly, it’s extremely delayed, my wife will go in the room and come out and the camera still shows her in the room 5-10 seconds later. The most important thing to me is a monitor that simply and reliably works. The sock lets me know my baby is safe but the camera barely works. What is the point of the camera if we can’t see her? Don’t buy the camera! For $100 get yourself a better device.
