Description

Owned and run by the NHS, the NHS App is a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.

To use the NHS App you must be aged 13 or over and registered with a GP surgery in England.

You can also access NHS App services from the browser on your desktop or laptop computer. Go to www.nhs.uk/app

Use the NHS App to:

• get your NHS COVID Pass
• get advice about coronavirus
• order your repeat prescriptions
• book and manage appointments at your GP surgery
• get health information and advice
• view your health record securely
• register your organ donation decision
• find out how the NHS uses your data

If your GP surgery or hospital offers other services in the NHS App, you may be able to:

• message your GP surgery, doctor or health professional online
• consult a GP or health professional through an online form and get a reply
• access health services on behalf of someone you care for
• view your hospital and other healthcare appointments
• view useful links your doctor or health professional has shared with you
• view and manage your care plans

Get your NHS COVID Pass
--------------------------------------

View and download your COVID Pass for travel abroad.

A COVID Pass shows your coronavirus (COVID-19) vaccination details or test results. This is your COVID-19 status.

Check your COVID-19 vaccine record

--------------------------------------

Your record shows you information about the type of vaccine you had and the date you had it.

Get advice about coronavirus
---------------------------------------

Get information about coronavirus and find out what to do if you think you have it.

Order repeat prescriptions
-----------------------------------

See your available medicines, request a new repeat prescription and choose a pharmacy for your prescriptions to be sent to.

Book appointments
--------------------------

Search for, book and cancel appointments at your GP surgery. See details of your upcoming and past appointments.

Get health advice
-----------------------------

Search trusted NHS information and advice on hundreds of conditions and treatments. You can also answer questions to get instant advice or medical help near you.

View your health record
----------------------------------

Securely access your GP health record, to see information like your allergies and your current and past medicines. If your GP surgery has given you access to your detailed medical record, you can also see information like test results and details of your consultations.

Register your organ donation decision
--------------------------------------------------

Choose to donate some or all of your organs and check your registered decision.

Find out how the NHS uses your data
-------------------------------------------------

Choose if data from your health records is shared for research and planning.

Keeping your data secure
---------------------------------

After you download the app, you will need to set up an NHS login and prove who you are. The app then securely connects to information from your GP surgery.

If your iPhone or iPad supports Touch ID or Face ID, you can use it to log in to the NHS App each time, instead of using a password and security code.

What people are saying
-------------------------------

“I am genuinely delighted that I am able to book a GP appointment on my phone at a time when it suits me... I even got an emergency appointment within the hour by just looking on the app! I have also successfully booked and cancelled blood test appointments, ordered a prescription and registered to be an organ donor.”

“Best health app I’ve used. Easy to use and has all the functions I require. Great the NHS has produced such an innovative app.”

“I found the registration super easy and quick. I have booked an appointment through the app which was so much easier than waiting on the phone to my GP. I have also now become an organ donor.”

What’s New

Version 2.19.0

• Logging in to the NHS App with Touch ID or Face ID (biometrics) is now easier. You will now be asked if you want to set up biometrics the first time you use the NHS App. We also changed the design from a toggle switch to a radio button to make it more consistent.
• We fixed an issue where an error message disappears when you start typing.
• We fixed a back button that sent you to the homepage instead of to a page where you could choose a prescription to order.
• We fixed an issue where you could not see the documents in your health records if your GP surgery uses EMIS.
• We changed the content on health records and organ donation to make it more consistent. We also changed the way we describe ‘sick notes’ on appointments.
• We changed the way we display messages in the NHS App, so that you can see unread messages more easily.
• We added two new screens when you manage your NHS notifications. You can now see examples of NHS notifications and manage your notifications across multiple devices.

Money

Hi I mistakenly bought this and have not opened it. How do I get a refund?

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your review, please be advised the NHS App only retrieves information directly from the GP's clinical system.

Terrible design

The app hops from in-app use to its website, and has countless errors, and makes it impossible to contact the support team. I’ve tried over and over to book an appointment for submitting the vaccine I received abroad (why on Earth I can’t just upload a photo of it for verification is beyond my comprehension, my guess is these pencil-pushers didn’t consider that possibility), but it always says I can’t because I have other appointments booked. I checked, and I have no appointments booked. Why can’t I just book for a booster? Why do they make it so difficult? Do they want people to get the booster or not?

Developer Response ,

Thank you for your review. You’ll need to contact your GP surgery directly to discuss this along with booking an appointment. They can book the appointments over the telephone.

Should improve it

Their application needs a lot to be improved and they should ease the log in using email only sometimes doesn’t help,so (nhs number or birth day) will make it more easier.
Requirements to prove the identity!!!!!!!! I was shocked 😂for example I have to record a video of my face at midnight!!!
I mean there should be better ways to log in and adding information.
