The Night Vision app utilizes your device's LiDAR camera to explore the magic of the night. Offering a deep visual experience, it allows you to capture stunning images and videos, opening up new ways to perceive the world!

Night Vision is a free app that utilizes the LiDAR scanner and TrueDepth Camera on iPhones and iPads to scan and detect distances in completely dark environments.

Principle:
In well-lit environments, the device uses the rear standard camera in conjunction with the LiDAR Scanner or TrueDepth Camera for imaging to ensure optimal image quality. However, in completely dark environments, imaging is solely handled by the rear LiDAR scanner or infrared camera.

Supported devices:
All Apple devices with LiDAR scanning capabilities or the Face ID feature are supported.

Features:
- Real-time push: push night vision images to Apple Watch, Mobile phones, Tablets, and Computers in real-time, and view night vision images in real-time
- Distance detection: You can customize the minimum distance and detection area. The app provides real-time vibration prompts whenever the set detection range or minimum distance is reached.
- Take photos: The app allows you to capture photos and save them to the system album.
- Video Recording: You can record LiDAR video in conjunction with Regular Camera video and save the footage to the system album.
- Camera switch: You are free to switch between the LiDAR camera and the regular camera as needed.

Actually free, and open source!

Update: with the latest updates, the app is no longer completely free for all features, but instead locks many of them behind a "premium" paywall. The price is reasonable, however. It also seems that the open-source version hasn't been updated in a couple weeks, hopefully the developer hasn't abandoned that. At least updates are very frequent recently, even if not free features.

Original review: A simple yet effective app, does exactly what is described, and completely free other than optional donations! Great for experimenting with the LiDAR sensor!

Identifies shapes mainly, be this may be all you need to get around if the power goes out! It’s fun being able to use this tool!

Buy it before trying it; no thanks

Can only see one image without buying the app. When will these app developers stop scamming their customers. You pay a price to find out it will only work partially or not a all.

Take our word, they say.

Need a sample to see if it will work for my application. A free photo for each mode. I mostly need this for greyscale to replicate 3D profile images to translate to wood.
