Introducing Mobile Web Services (MWS), a new suite of Personal Identity tokens and services, developed, administered and managed by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).
This MobileID Application is issued by the NIMC on behalf of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and serves as a valid means of Identification anywhere a Nigerian (or legal resident) is required to present an ID Token.
It MUST however, always be verified for the transaction to be complete.
The NIMC is also improving the design of the National Identification Number (NIN) Slip, which may also be verified using this App.
The NIMC will collaborate with sister agencies such as the FIRS, FRSC, JAMB, NAFDAC, NHIS and any other Federal or State Government that wishes to provide eServices to citizens via a secure platform.
Using this platform, the MWS Mobile Ecosystem means that the Government can instantly reach out to tens of millions of citizens anywhere in the world.
If you have been issued a National Identification Number (NIN) by the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC), you are welcome to download this application to use as a complement to, or in place of the physical National Identity Card.
This app may serve as a replacement for a physical Polycarbonate Card, since it also a State-of-the-Art General-Multipurpose resource.

Nice one but I have a concern! After trying to link my NIMC number I finally did but was not able to receive the OTP I noticed that people that ported their lines hardly receive certain texts please work on this for easy use. Things don’t need to be hard in Nigeria to achieve. I still have not received the OTP on my line.
Great concept, poor management
The concept is excellent, process seamless but closure extremely excruciating. I’ve tried over 6 times to get user ID and OTP. SMS came only twice and registration failed. It’s a clear indication there is no accountability on the part of the developers or the project was designed to fail. SAD!!!!
It requires a lot of patience. Problem includes delayed generation of OTP by TELCOS. Try at night or randomly. Got mine about 5pm. I’ve changed rating to three because there seems to be complacency in resolving issues.
What a shame!
As expected anything rolled out by the Federal Govt in a hurry doesn’t work!
There are lots of genius young Nigerian app developers that can produce world class interactive and user friendly apps with their eyes closed but will they give them an opportunity?
No, they rather contract it out to themselves so the money remains within the system.
Huge waste of my time downloading, I deleted immediately after about four trials.
Someone should pls leave a review when they get their act together
